Great news! This class is coming together nicely. Really liking the upward trajectory of the '13 and '14 classes.

On Clark specifically, he seems like the type of kid every program needs. His coach was quoted as saying he is very loyal to his teammates and coaches and his best attribute is he is a winner. Also heard he could have transferred to a higher profile HS to get more recruiting attention, but he didn't want to leave his teammates.

... Clark, Thomas and Lawrence all 6'6 or over, with decent handles should be a match up nightmare. I'd like to know what to expect of our Juco big... I hope Moore will give us a true 4. The one thing I noticed during the creighton game last year, with Thomas is that we're getting athletic bigs with skills again. Staff deserves it's props, if they land Grantham I'd suggest pay raises.

Mick's best recruiter

Gary's mom at about 9:45 of his press conference says GOD already said where he should go... got to love that!!!

Very excited about this year and next year's recruiting classes. If these guys can hit enough 3's to keep the defenses honest without falling in love with the jumper, they can be solid offensively. On defense I think they will be much more impressive. We've got the trio of big, physical combo guards coming in this season with Caupain, Johnson, and Morman, paired with long, versatile, athletic forwards in Lawrence, Thomas, Rubles, and (at least defensively) Jackson. Then, next season we replace Rubles and Jackson with Moore and Clark who have similar physical attributes but with more polished offensive repertoires. This team is going to be full of lengthy athletes who will create match-up nightmares at almost every position.

Great points made here! I love the players we are getting. By next year we will have a team of players who love to attack the basket and score. Not to mention the length we will have is going to be a huge advantage.

Yes I agree 100%. If we can land Grantham that would be great. If not we can wait till spring to see if we are going to need a knock down shooter, more help at PG, or more help at C. If we can add depth at any of those spots in the spring...then next year we could just complete the puzzle with the other 2 positions when we lose JJ and TR.

How cool would it be to have an above agerage PG, knock down shooter, and C to go with all the other talent we have at the 2-4 positions? Now that would be a complete team. I hope we already have some of that puzzle on our team with guys like Caupain and Strickland but we will have to wait and see. We might even see one of our current guys become a knock down shooter out of necessity to earn playing time.

It could be easier for Mick to put the full court press on a top recruit who can fill one glaring need rather than to be forced to focus on several needs. Kudos to Mick and Savino for doing a GREAT job filling a bunch of holes with strong talent in these last two classes!!

I've got my shades on!

I think JDIII could fill the role of outside shooter. Even Thomas knocked them down when he attempted them. I am curious to see what kind of percentage he hits now that he will be playing a more significant role.

“On my visit I loved the facilities and I really enjoyed the players in the program,” Clark said. “I noticed the relationship that Coach Cronin had with his players and I knew I wanted to be part of that someday."

that's great to hear!! same can be said for quadri!! when you are a high profile player in jersey st ants st pats etc come calling but he chose to stay home and play for his hometown team!

I'm really impressed with Clark. He is well spoken and seems like a class young man. I loved the video posted above where he announced his choice, especially when he moved to the question and answer section. Loved his thought process, and the reasoning behind his choice. So impressive. I watched a bunch of his youtube videos as well. This is a helluva recruit in my opinion. I think he'll be the type of player to work hard to get better and we're going to love watching him reach his potential. Well done Mick...and Larry Davis!!!

With all the good talent Mick brought in this year. With the 2 scholly's we have for 2015 I really think Mick looks for that 1 special player that puts us in the upper echelon of programs. A one and doner if you will.It could be that special Pg or Post up shot blocking big we have been missing. New guys will have gained experience and adjusted to college game and they certainly don't lack talent or depth. 2015 could very well re-establish that UC Is back and here to stay. Next step get a good facility to show case our program.

We will more than likely have 3 scolly's for 2015 because Lawrence will be gone after 2 years.

I am trying to figure out how many spots we will have opening up in 2015. For this 2014 class we will be losing SK, JJ, TR, and DN. For the following 2015 class we should be losing ST, JD, JS, and GG. Then for 2016 it will be CD. Jermaine (or some other player) could potentially leave earlier.

As of right now it looks like we have 4 schollys for 2015 without an early departure. Is this correct?

No Thomas and Davis redshirted so they will only be juniors so only seniors for 2015 will be Guyn and Sanders and also Lawrence will probably be a 2 and done so a total of 3 scollys for 2015.
