The kid is fluid. You sometimes see these ultra-athletes and get blown away by that but Clark is athletic, skilled and smooth. He loves that spin move into the lane and looks awesome doing it. Even with the ball in his hands, at 6'8", he looks comfortable. I'm telling you I'm as excited about this kid as any recruit I can remember. He's going to be very good for the Bearcats.

He reminds me of a more polished(skilled) version of Shaq Thomas. Similar body types and style. I am so excited to get him here next season. I really think he will have a good chance to make a solid impact his freshman year.

The numbers he is putting right now regardless of competition level are impressive. I think if he can learn early on at the college level to take the open 8-10 ft jumper instead of driving for a contested 5 ft shot, he could be an immediate scoring threat. Too many times big men get away with getting easy shots under the rim(or in this case above the rim) over smaller and less athletic opponents in high school that it takes them a while to adjust.

Both he and Quadri were McDonalds All American nominees. Not that it means that much but if Gary continues to play the way he is, he just might get actual consideration of becoming a McDonalds All American. Congrats to both.

Jack, I'm not familiar with the qualty of competition Clark competes againt. Can you enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

He plays in a very good league in North Carolina. However with his length and athleticism he would be giving any league serious problems. As seen in many of his videos he simply runs past and jumps over people. It's his mid range game that evaluators love the most about his potential. So while it's tough to get a great feel of just how good the high school competition (It's not New York) is, it's his performance in AAU that tells that he is for real. He played in the EYBL which features tons of top players every year. Many games where he just dominated. He has always had the talent just not the motor. Seems like he has the motor figured out and it is paying major dividends.

Thanks for your recruiting input, it is greatly appreciated. As it seems like Graham may be going to Mizzou (at least per reports), is there anyone on the horizon that my be a shooter? Both you and Jeff do great work on the recruiting forum.

JDIII transferring and stopping recruiting on Grantham and Terrell compounded with losing Graham, though I was never sure we were actually on his radar, could hurt. Cats need a shooter.

Terrell would have really been great get, but it seems like the staff thought that Morman would play the same position. Grantham was likely being recruited as a 3 rather than a 2. Not sure but something fishy was going on with his recruitment. It looked like he may be going to Michigan or UC but he ended up at Clemson. We definitely could use a shooter for next year, as you mentioned.

Is Mormon a PG? I didn't think he was but not sure. If he is a 2 guard and that is the same position Terrell would play, it is also the same position Graham would play as well, and we were supposedly putting the full court press on him. Never understood why we backed off of a top 50 guy (Terrell), especially now that we have 2 scholarships.

I know Grantham's recruitment was strange, only mentioned him b/c we have to 2 schollies.

I'm preety sure Morman is a 2. I'm not sure if Terrell is the same type of shooter as Graham, but I know they backed off Terrell once Morman was ruled eligible. If they continue to play well this year, maybe they wait until coaching change season and see if there is someone who is let out of their comittment that they could add to the class.

I notice you didn't say anything about shooting.

Morman can shoot the rock but I wouldnt classify him as a sharp shooter. He is a bulldog. Gets his points by attacking you. Still can knock down the 3. No doubt the remaining scholarships and 2015 targets should include a deadly shooter. With Mick handling Graham's recruitment personally I wouldn't count the cats out just yet. I personally wish we would have kept after Terrell. I, like you, never understood that. Just fits what mick looks for in a bearcat. I know they backed off after finding out Morman would be eligible but the way the chips have fallen would be nice to have him now. Also there is a guy by the name of Kobe Eubanks I've always wanted the cats to get more involved with. Kid can light it up from outside but I think he is a Pitt lean at the current moment. Really interested to see what Mick comes up with for the two remaining schollys.

I looked up Morman's HS stats and could only find his first two years. These are 2 year totals. He did not play much his freshman year.

5-20 from 3 = 25%
55-91 FT = 60%
83-151 2 pt FG's = 55%
48 assists/ 42 TO's

Morman's release point is inconsistent so his perimeter shooting is inconsistent. Mechanical flaw that can be fixed because the rest of his mechanics are pretty solid, but that's where he is at right now...

Thanks Chad. No doubt he is using this redshirt year to work on his mechanics. Any idea Chad when he may get his boot off and when he will begin practice with the team.
