We have 5 PFs/Cs...2 sure fire starters...trying to imagine a big that will relish that opportunity. On the wing we have one sure fire starter, an un proven frosh, and an underwhelming senior.

I know what I am hoping for.

If they get Holden. You have to think Brooks gets a redshirt

want a 5th year grad transfer big. if JJ can give us a few minutes we can always slide TC to the wing. we are very thin behind Washington and Clark. Of course both a wing and Big would be nice but with little playing time to offer at the wing this year getting a highly rated player is going to be tough.

We have Brooks, Scott, and Moore. If we don't have a solid backup (or two) in there...we are in trouble.

I'm not sure I would want to come here as a transfer and play behind what seems to be 2 solid starters and compete with 3 other bigs for those backup minutes.

For a guy backing up the 4 and 5 spot getting max 20 minutes a game he would be a nice signing. Especially considering he would upgrade the bench quite a bit. He would eliminate the headache I get seeing Quad come into the game.

I think you have to assume all the players are going to get at least 5 minutes per game (or so). Even Q and JJ got more than that last year. So if Clark and Washington get 30 minutes and Scott, Moore, and Brooks all get 5 minutes. That only leaves 5 minutes for a transfer.

Unless Brooks redshirts (or Q transfers) I just don't see our team as the best option for playing time for a transfer big

If we get a grad transfer, I could see essentially a 3 man rotation at the 4-5. Let's be honest, it shouldn't be much of a competition for a guy with grad transfer experience to grab the 15-20 minutes that Clark and Washington don't play.

If you are assuming Scott, Moore and Brooks all get around 0-2 minutes I would agree...but I think we all know that is not going to happen

Scott, Moore, and Brooks don't have to play at all. This isn't grade school CYO.

Do we though? If Brooks redshirts, and Holden (or whoever) can play smart basketball, no reason for those other guys to play much. It will all depend on game situations anyway. I don't trust Scott and Moore to get 10 minutes combined in big games. And with Cronin reaching out to grad transfers, I think he feels the same way.

When we're blowing teams out, Clark and Washington won't need to play 30 minutes...so that's where Scott and Moore can get their 10 minutes. But in the toughest games, I'd like to see those guys stay on the bench if we can help it.

Quadri is definately terrible, but I think it's unfair for people to say Scott is bad, you haven't seen him play yet. What is this based on?

and justin jackson was a pretty worthless player for 3 years until his senior year. Let Quad play his true position of a 5 first. With Ellis and Deberry there werent any minutes at the 5 and we forced Quad to play the 4 and ended up guarding guys around the 3 point line. He cant do that.

He is a stretch 4 with no quickness and an inconsistent shot. Not a 5.

the fact that we are recruiting Holden should answer your question. Quad is not a quality back up. Brooks is a freshman and Scott is a red shirt freshmen. Mick is recruiting Holden for a reason. He has seen all three play. A Mick isn't going to go into a season with good personnel without having a quality back up at the 4 and 5. Depending on the 3 you mentioned is not a good plan.
