to good to play at Nebraska??? Lol! He was playing almost 35 minutes a game. For a 16-18 team and he decides he's to good to play for them. Yea I want to recruit this kid over the top of my guys. Jake will have to agree to disagree on this one.

If you aren't willing to recruit over the top of Johnson, you aren't serious about winning.

If White makes us a seriously legitimate threat to win the league this year and make some real noise in March, I don't know how you'd say no thanks. You'd have to tell Kevin Johnson that his minutes are gone, and Cumberland would still have plenty of chance to play in the regular rotation.

I'm glad you're high on Cumberland though. Hopefully that helps answer the question about that position battle.

You've clearly never been in a high level team environment to understand how volatile things can get when you have a pissed off guy with a critical role on the team. Just toss your senior captain under the bus, and see how it permeates through a locker room. Last time that happened was the last time UC missed the tournament.

Cumberland is going to be critical at the 2 and the 3. Trying to make it out to be him or Kevin is setting up a false narrative to have something to complain about along the way...

Not his fault they had about 3 players worth anything this year.
Didn't he chose to go there after leaving KU because he couldn't crack the line up. He played 35 minutes a game for Neb. 16-18 team that he was a huge part of and you think it's ok to punch our because he is to good to play with them. Jake is that how you would honor your comittment and treat your teammates. I'm to good to play here?

Nice exchange of thoughts Jake but I got to go. Watching the Cubs beat up on my reds. Bryant has clubbed 3 homers tonight 2 of them upper deck. Talk to you later.

If I had a pro basketball career on the line, yeah.

If you aren't serious about knowing how to manage a roster, you have very little chance of keeping your job long term...

Kevin Johnson is a team guy. Does he want minutes, or does he want the team to win? The obvious answer us both...but c'mon, he's had 3 years to lock down his spot and he hasn't gotten it done.

Yes. But I think it's a little much for you to assume that White wouldn't be a good character guy.

White is a good kid. His dad just got hit with the reality that the gravy train might not ever find the tracks. It's a rough situation to gamble your season on. If it was a simple as landing his talent and blending him in with the team, sure. That pretty clearly isn't the case here...

Well sounds like he might as well have stayed at Nebraska bc a winning team won't want the headache. I'll be very interested to see how it all plays out for him.

Thanks for the insight.

jake he may be a great kid. He may be getting bad advice from his handlers or someone else. Did you read the article I posted. . His decision took a few turns. Neb felt like they were misled.

First player ever to hit 3 HR and 2 2B in a game. I started him in a FanDuel tournament too...81.8 points by himself.

@JonRothstein
Mississippi State transfer Malik Newman is down to Kansas and Western Kentucky, sources told @CBSSports. Decision expected in next few days.
