Clark started bc it was a whole new team and it was either going to be him or Quadri Moore. There was no established player to beat out.

Shaq Thomas started over Evans. Evans is obviously way better. Not even a debate.

Guyn started over Caupain. Caupain was obviously way better. I know Caupain was young, but he was still the better player. That's why he played more minutes. No debate.

For the team to be its best, we need Cumberland to be a contributor in as significant a way as possible. Imo taking his lumps in the exhibition and early season slate could really pay off by the end of the year. He has a higher ceiling than Johnson. And I feel like Johnson started to get comfortable in his role towards the end of the year last year. First guy off the bench to bring energy and not have pressure on him to score would be best imo. But we shall see.

Like I said, Cronin has made it clear that he doesn't think it matters who starts. He's started the worse player before bc of seniority. I'll be surprised if he doesn't do it again.

Shaq was playing very good basketball until his injury. Like most freshmen, Evans gained consistency as the year went along. At the beginning of the year, Shaq was the better choice. By the end, it would have been interesting to see if Shaq had stayed healthy. As a result, it didn't matter.

I will be extremely unhappy if KJ starts over Cumberland only because he's a senior. This is not high school ball where every senior dresses for varsity. The fact that KJ is a good perimeter defender doesn't make up for the fact he's turnover prone, takes bad shots, is streaky from 3 and shows no inclination to attack the rim. If he out plays Cumberland in practice and exhibitions that's one thing, but to give him the nod at the 2 guard because he's a senior is a joke.

By the way I've seen Cumberland play up close against good competition multiple times and even if he's only at his average performance level he's 3 times better than KJ right now

@JonRothstein
Minnesota transfer Charles Buggs has committed to USC, source told @CBSSports. Immediately eligible for next season.

BREAKING: Nebraska's Andrew White has requested his release and intends to be a grad transfer, source told @CBSSports. Immediately eligible.

This would be a dream come true.

It would be a Grand Slam. We couldn't ask for a better fit for what we've been looking for. I'll be interested to see his list. I wonder if he already has a school in mind.

The Twitter replies mention Kansas and UConn, so I have a feeling this will be a tough one.

Any updates? My KU fan friends say no way they bring him back. I don't know what makes them do sure, but they didn't seem too interested.
Jake do you have any concerns about bringing a guy in who will be looking to put up numbers to impress the NBA. Rumors are that he was told by NBA teams that the knock on him was he could not elevate a bad Husker team. You think it could cause chemistry issues? I know Lance was a guy looking to make the jump and it didn't sit well with some of the upperclassmen. He certainly does have some talent. Not saying this is the case just throwing it out there. I'm always leery about a guy who's father is interviewed in the process. It also mentions handlers. He has moved around quite a bit.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. No question about it. We could have our own death lineup at times with Caupain, Cumberland, Evans, White III, and Clark. He's exactly what we need.

I got to say on paper I really like the thought of what his game could add to the team. From the article I really think he is looking for a place where he can show case his game. We might not be a match.

Why wouldn't he be able to showcase his game here? He's obviously tired of playing for a losing program. I don't see what the problem would be on our end. He could very well be the best player on the team if we got him.

sometimes guys have a hard time blending in with their teammates. Especially when some have been here for awhile. Not saying this would happen just discussing. 3 schools in 5 years is a red flag to me. I could be worried about nothing.
