Big East expanding

Moving to the Big 12 would have been a dumb thing to do, which is why UC rejected it. Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State are going to leave the Big 12. The Big 12 is going to consist of Rice, SMU, Houston, Tulane, etc. In a few years.

Links. Or are you just making this up? Thats one way to lose all credibility. But, I will give you a chance to show proof on UC getting an offer to the Big 12

UC has never, NEVER, gotten an offer to join the Big 12. That is a flat out lie. They are not even the first or second in line to be extended an invitation. UC needs to hope for a four team expansion to move to the Big 12. They are part of a possible expansion scenario involving the Big 12.

Louisville or WVU will be the next piece of the BEast to be eaten. Louisville is fed up with the uncertainty and lack of decisiveness the BEast leadership has shown and could be gone within the next few days. As I stated earlier, the situation for these schools is now self preservation. These schools want to bring this to a closure so recruiting and money is assured.

Missouri is still a huge piece of what will happen next. UL and WVU could be added to the Big 12 regardless. It is not a given but it is a DISTIINCT possibility. These schools have insight and foresight of what is happening. Once (if) that happens pray the Big 12 expands to 14.

I think it is a matter of time before UC gets a invite to another major conference. They may be in a depleted Big East for a couple years (may not be that bad honestly to go to a couple of BCS games).

UC is a huge school with a massive endowment. I am extremely confident we are in a major conference in 5 years not named The Big East. I am 50/50 on if I think they will be in a major conference player besides the big east before then.

I am not nearly as confident as you are. In my opinion, the only way UC finds itself in a major conference is if Texas, Texas Tech, OU and Oklahoma State leave the Big 12. That would have happened had the Pac 12 gotten the votes to expand. They couldn't get the votes. Now, with adding TCU and potentially UL and WVU, there is no reason for those 4 to bolt. If they decide to go to 14 schools, I believe UC and BYU would be the next choices. 14 schools doesn't make sense for the Big 12 at this time. The ACC is not going to happen. The Big 10 is not going to happen. The SEC is not going to happen. The Pac 10 is not going to happen. UC has ONE option (besides staying in a weakened/about to lose it's AQ status Big East) and that is a sketchy one right now.

To clarify a couple things Ralph has been spewing on the site:
- UC was never offered Big 12 membership
- The government is not going to get involved in the AQ status of the Big East. There are more critical issues in this country for congress to deal with.

So it seems that the only way UC can get into the Big 12 is if they expand to 14. Is that correct? Is there any we go in as the 12th?

While I agree I doubt that Congress would get involved (definitely won't get involved just to keep the Big East as a AQ league), they have hinted at getting involved with the BCS before and more pressing issues has never stopped them from getting involved in sports. Congress is about the only thing as inept as the NCAA/BCS, seems like a match made in heaven.

One other question I have in this whole ordeal is what happens with Notre Dame when the Big East becomes irrelevant? They've been allowed to ride the Big East coattails as far as bowl match-ups and what not.

UC has decided to stay in the Big East. UC is not interested in joining the Big 12.

You must have missed my post--will you show me a link of UC rejecting the Big 12 offer. I think everyone was waiting for it as we were all excited they got the offer. You wouldn't just pull that out of the air, would you?

Air Force has rejected an offer to join the Big 12 (smart move), they will join the Big East for football only, joining the Missouri Valley for all other sports, this per the Air Force AD.

Ban this fool, hes worse than Brandon Tate returning kicks.

TTL it is you who is the clueless fool and should be banned.

I read how you got beat up bad at Bearcat News over your clueless remarks concerning basketball and conference alignment.

Football rules college sports, basketball is an after thought.

A quote from the AD of Boston College.

“We always keep our television partners close to us,’’ he said. “You don’t get extra money for basketball. It’s 85 percent football money. TV - ESPN - is the one who told us what to do. This was football; it had nothing to do with basketball.’’

You remain clueless. UC plays 18 varsity sports.

23,000 UC fans traveled 800 miles to New Orleans to watch UC play in the Sugar Bowl. A mere 4,000 traveled 700 miles to Minneapolis to watch UC play in the Final 4.
