OSU

Saw a 17.5 point spread this morning. Getting to the point where we look like a good bet to cover. I cant believe it has jumped up that much. I thought itd go to 14.5 and stay there.

I bet my OSU buddy some Skyline and he is giving me 14.5. I find it hard to believe that we will lose by more than 2 TD's.

I think this game could get out of hand in the second half. UC will probably lose by 28 or more, but the game will seem much closer than that!

28 or more? Cmon. No way it is worse than the 41-17 range. Ohio St isnt explosive enough to win by that much. If we have 2 turnovers or more, it could stretch out by a few TDs at most. I dont mind if our defense gives up yards as long as they dont allow several big plays for easy touchdowns. A lot will be on Gunner and the offense. Hopefully someone can run just enough to keep the defense off the field as much as possible. I'm saying 41-31 OSU.

I hate to say it but I believe we'll get blown out before we'll have a close game. If OSU controls both lines of scrimmage then they could have their way with us. Nothing on either line has impressed me the first two weeks. I know it was last year, but look what UNC did to us controlling the lines in the Belk Bowl. We didn't get any better on either line from then. We have a better QB this year and some playmakers at WR. They should run five wide almost every down and be aggressive on getting turnovers on defense. We won't win a chess match with them. Tuberville says we have to run the ball better, which is true, but I can't imagine us winning that battle and turning things around in that department this week. Last year they played better when they switched to a more spread offensive style. Same will hold true tomorrow. We can't hand the ball off for no gains and losses all game and expect to convert third and longs.

To add to you David bc I agree with what you said: everyone thinks we will be able to score against OSU. Their D-line is stacked. They easily have 3 first round picks on that side. Our o-line will seriously be tested. I hope Kiel has a chance to get rid of it.
I hope this isn't a Sugar Bowl 2.0

I want so badly for the Cats to win, but my brain tells me otherwise.

Are we improved from last year? I think so. However, the team last year played one of the weakest schedules in the history of UC football. You realize that UC defeated only one (1) team that finished the year with a winning record - that was Houston. We had wins against a team that was winless, a team that won one game, played two 2-win teams (and lost to one of them), beat two 3-win teams, got trounced by a 4-win team and stomped by NC, who was a .500 team at the time.

This year's team seems better.....but that much better? Beating OSU, at their place, when they've had 2 weeks to prepare for us? After the distractions of the arrests & then the death of a player? I don't think so.

I sadly predict an OSU blowout, something like 48-10.

Unfortunately I think lose:

41-28.... And maybe my heart is making me think it will be that close.....

But I'll sure be rooting till the very end

The defense needs to step up today for us to have a chance. If they can tackle better, then I think this could be a great game.

If this crap on defense continues, then heads need to roll either on our defensive staff or our strength training staff. I've never seen a defense look so physically weak and unable to wrap up and make tackles. We look like an FCS team on defense. We should have good enough athletes to make a tackle and not have a pile pushed 5 yards.

UC could have an All-America offense but with this defense finish middle of the pack in the American conference.

It is tough when you cant run or play defense. I figured we would lose but this is becoming unwatchable.

This defense is unacceptably bad. I'm dead serious when I say someone on the staff should lose their job after this season. I don't see how OSU doesn't score less than 60 unless Urban has mercy on us.

Only reason would be because he went to UC iirc - but given his track record. He doesn't stop...
