Forgot about Mbodj... looked quick and athletic, good pick up by Mick!
Shaq needs serious weight room efforts before he becomes a force.
Here is my question. UC seems to have a complete logg jam at the backup PG position. Where is everyone going to fit in.
I've never seen Shaq in person, so it's tough to get a feel... does it appear as though he will have Darnell Wilks issues with putting weight on or does he have the frame to add solid weight?
I can't speculate on what will happen, but what I would LIKE to see happen is:
-Cash stays healthy all year and plays like healthy Cash.
-Guyn develops nicely and becomes the #2 behind Cash.
-Davis ends up splitting time getting a small # of minutes at the 1 and a few minutes at the 2.
-Parker has a bounce back year and provides anywhere from 10-20 minutes at the 2 spot.
I could be wrong and maybe Mick wants Parker to continue to run point but I really think he could be more effective at the two, considering the other options right now. A lot of it will depend though on how well JD and Guyn adjust to the speed of the game and running the O.

Was down last night....
Yancy had a couple awesome post moves, got the ball and went fast.
JD is BE ready physically which is nice to see.
Guyn will be a solid backup this season imo. Very quick and shot looked solid.

I would say it will be hard for him to gain weight... Hopefully Im wrong but idk, thoughts of redshirt and a year of serious lifting have crossed my mind.
I don't see any chance that Shaq is redshirted. If he has skills, he will play. UC is weak at the SF position and Shaq has tremendous potential. Weight is a bit overrated anyway. How thick was James White? How think is Jeremy Lamb? Wilks was thin but that never was his issue. He lacked the needed skills. If Shaq has the skills he should see some minutes.
For the record, I dont see Shaq being redshirted, however I would consider it... As for Jeremy Lamb, hes a rare kind. Shaq has no where near the shooting that Lamb has. imo.
I don't think they have a log jam at all. Not including incoming freshman, they have one true PG (Cash). Parker is not a PG. If he plays it will most likely be at the 3 spot where they are very weak. Dixon obviously isn't a PG. Guyn is supposed to be converting to a PG but he has been a shooting guard his whole life except last year. Davis is considered a combo guard that can play point in a pinch. So no, IMO, they don't have a log jam.
Ge'lawn Guyn has played the PG for most of his career. His had to score in high school.. Ge'lawn has a 42 inch vertical and 6'10 wing span..
He is working hard to be a better PG for UC.. I think he is put in about 5 hours a day in the gym.

I like the prospects of Guyn as a future PG. But having a freshman coming in and converting to a PG and calling it a logjam is far fetched to me.
Ge'lawn will play any spot to help UC Win. If it is a logjam PG, he will have to redshirt this year. But a year seating out will make him a beast in 2012 season. But I think it will be hard to keep him off the floor this year. He will not take a positon off in the game or at practice. He is in the gym about 5 hours everyday. I think the fan will love him when they see him on the floor this year or next year.
