If JJ is healthy I think we match up well with Louisville. Hope he is ready to go. The key to the game in my mind is stopping guard penetration. Tuff assignement against Louisville.

Even Grade I ankle sprains (the least severe) take 2-4 weeks to gain back full mobility. As much as I would like to see JJ on the court, I'd rather have him rest the injury so as to be ready come March. Hopefully there's no ligament damage. There's going to be swelling and tenderness even in the low grade sprains. He won't be his wild, mobile self jumping all obstacles, blocking shots, etc. Of course, it may have been very mild, even below a Grade I (my hope). I'm sure btween the Doc, trainer and Cronin, they'll do what's best.

agree completely

I really believe shaq has figured it out offensively and defensively. I expect him to be a double digit scorer from here on out

I was reading some U of L fans on the ESPN pregame conversation say that Temple is the worst team in the AAC. While I realize that record wise they are, I really disagree. They have lost so many close games, they are better than both UCF, USF, and are pretty even with Houston, IMO.

Capt D...I read this and was in complete agreement with you. Also, after watching the anguish JJ was in after his injury I would have not expected something that would have been considered a mild sprain. I have broken an ankle and that is roughly how I acted when I did it.

I am baffled really. He couldn't even put weight on the thing as he was walking (being helped) into the locker room. I was expecting the worst. The recent reports of him being probable are certainly a breath of fresh air...but I wonder if JJ is putting on a show so he can play. That would be a hard show to put on with a decent sprain.

Bottom line is I don't want him out there if it's still weak. I think JJ is a tough man...so I don't understand why his initial reaction was one of severe sprain compared to a slight turn which most players would just walk off.

I remember being out 2 weeks on a broken ankle in softball...just because I wanted to play I came back. I had no coach telling me I couldn't play. But I was limping for roughly 4 weeks. I was basically hobbled for 2 weeks.

If I were in HS BB I would not have been effective at all. Going side to side would have been impossible to keep up. I could run a sraight line no problem. Jumping was out of the question on that particular ankle. That ankle was also subject to re-sprain which I did a couple of times. Nothing major...but I was sprained almost the entire year.

I hope JJ has nothing similar to that...if he does...he needs to sit.

They finally got over the hump in the AAC & beat Rutgers.

Reports from practice are that he is moving around in shoot arounds with no limp and no problems. He says he's fine and if history has taught us anything it's that if he isn't ready to go Mick won't play him. Lets stop obsessing over this. He'll play or he won't. Mick Cronin puts a players health and future first. If there is any bout JJ will sit but the game will still be played.

Certainly agree with your comments concerning faith in MC to do the right thing for the player Jeff.

This is the game I cirlcle every year. I agree with MC that this is our key rival. Of course I go back to MV days. Always had a lot of respect for their program going all the way back to the Wes Unseld days. They have always played a exciting brand of BB. They have also excelled within the same state borders as the Wildcats. Not always a easy task.

The difference between them and X is that I always expect to beat X. While I know lately it hasn't always been that way it didn't matter. I always felt if we lost to X it was a upset. Louisville I know will be a war and I never feel safe playing them.
