I don't think you'll see any more New Mexico or Xavier ugly games with or without Jackson. I think those games woke these guys up on what they have to do effort wise all the time.
They had Pepper and we had SK. Wow what a show. Pepper has such a nice shot. 9 assists for Caupain! Thats huge. Contributions from everyone was needed and we got that.
Mick said on post game show he has no idea if JJ will be able to play Thursday.
Dave my wish at this time is split with UL,SMU,UCONN, and Memphis. Win against everyone else. That leaves us 14-4. I'll take that all day. We need wins against UCONN and UL to get step 1 accomplished.I hate to say it, but I think at Louisville is a loss with or without him. If he's not ready to go it will be ugly.
We have done this all year, and eventually, it will catch up to us. We need to go for the throat when we are up by 19, not get lackidasical and give up wide open 3s to the best player on the other team. Sometimes I think we get content, great teams don't do that. All and all, however, good win without JJ. If you would've told me that we could score 80 w/o JJ before this game, I probably would've looked at you funny. Also, great game by Shaq, I hope it because a habit, not an outlier performance.
Troy Caupain 8 points and 9 assist. Kevin Johnson 7 points including 2 huge fts. Shaq Thomas 15 points. Sanders with a huge block. Rubles 9 points 4 assist. Excellent team win on the road against a team that shot lights out from the 3 and who made nearly all their 24 fts. Not to mention UC being without their emotional leader and best defensive player. I will bet not one UC fan didn't say "oh sh*t we're in trouble" when Jackson went out. 17 assist today. This was a team win from a team fighting thru a lot of adversity right now. I love it.
If only we could score 80 every game, that would make things a helluva a lot easier with how good our defense usually is.
