wow- Im just impressed at how much you respect Xavier. 2 weeks ago you said he should be considered- after the Xavier game you said "Mick for coach of the year"-- that game must have pushed it over the edge.
Dude- I am a xavier fan and even I dont know anyone that holds that much respect for the Muskies- much appreciated though.
Then again- over the past 5 years you have been a mick supporter- all he needed was time. Though when Xavier hires Mack and gets them into the sweet 16 his first year you say "bad hire" Did you think X was better then a sweet 16 team last year? Please explain this. Mick 4 years no tournament-great hire. Mack 1 year- sweet 16. bad hire....lol, I guess thats just the expectations you have of both programs?
Mack inherited a loaded team but anybody making the Sweet 16 has accomplished something. Having Love and Crawford was huge for him because it gave him a legit inside outside threat. Something this years team does not have. To be fair Redford's injury has probably hurt this team far more than people realize.
That said, I never cared for the Mack hire either. I thought they picked the wrong assistant.
To even compare what Mack has inherited with what Mick inherited is laughable. Most of us respect Mick for all the obstacles he has had to overcome. Though I said from last spring that this team would be better than most thought, I won't judge the season till it's over. Regardless, Mick deserves credit for rebuilding the foundation of what was a nationally respected program and what was a consistent top 25 team. Especially under the guidelines that was given to him by the administration.
