Hopefully they fill them but filling the end of the bench is a tough assignment. While we are wishing I hope JJ, Moore and Scott all step forward.

Between Scott, Brooks, Moore, and Jenifer I think we already have the end of the bench covered. We need guys who can play in the regular rotation.

End of the Bench?

I completely agree with Jacob. We don't need end of the bench players. We need players who can be main contributors. We have three solid starters and are projecting that Washington can become the 4th even though he is still learning how to play defense. I want a recruit who can be a key contributor if not a starter to round out our lineup. Expecting Moore, Scott, or Brooks to be that guy is quite a stretch.

It's not fair to write off Scott or Brooks yet. Neither has played one minute in college. Moore has been here 2 years without showing much. JJ needs to take a step forward this year for me to feel good about him. I don't think he is capable of playing that position as a starter at any point in his career which is why the Broome signing was so huge.

I would agree with this. They very well may be on the end of the bench but I'm not sure why we brought them here if they can't even provide 10 back up minutes. We don't need them to score...just defend, rebound, and set picks etc.

I think Scott and Brooks are two players that fall under the category of needing time to develop. Scott was out ill most of his red shirt year and Brooks is a Freshman. Eventually I think both could be good players but asking them to produce quality back up minutes in games against good competition may be a little more then they are ready for. Against weaker teams they may be fine but if we need much more at this time we may be asking for to much. Hope they prove me wrong.

My guess is you are probably right...but I wouldn't have much to base that on other than a hunch

Scott missed the last few weeks, not most of the year. He was a full go in practice from October through the end of February...

Im speaking on you guys. Mick or staff hasn't said Washington was starter?

Correct. I dont think Mick has mentioned anything about next years starters. So technically the starting 5 is

1
2
3
4
5

But knowing what we know, we can plug in those who we think will start and find out for sure during the first real game

So my bold prediction is

1 Troy
2 KJ
3 Evans
4 Clark
5 Washington

If moore played 20min game in acc I bet the over on him scoring 6pts. Neither is rim protector so I think if nothing else split their minutes

Personally I dont see Moore starting any games this year sans injury to someone else. But if he can work on his foot speed, rebounding and decision making he could provide a much needed impact in the post this year.

With washingtons work ethic(atleast what weve been told in the enquirer story and the TV special) and his experience in the ACC I will find it hard to believe anyone start over him at this point. Unless someone else has some major major improvements. I also remember someone, could have been chad, maybe my uncle(who knows some people) that Washington was the best player on the team last year. but thats word of mouth so we will have to see it to believe it i guess. But I hope thats true, because that would be HUGE

Troy
Evans
Cumberland
Clark
Moore(if he improved rebounding)

There's a better chance of Adam Hrycaniuk getting another year of eligibility and starting than there is Quad starts. Let's get real.

I do think Cumberland could pass up KJ as the season progresses, but we'll have to see. Not that it matters, but I assume Evans would be at the wing, with Cumberland at SG.

I know on a radio show they said Washington was the best rebounder on the team. My only concern with him would be efficiency. I know he likes to get his shots up...i just hope they're the right shots.

I agree it may not be fair to write Brooks and Scott off...but until they prove otherwise, I'll consider them to be total question mark bench players.

Considering how good of a rebounder Gary is, that could be really big for us. We gave up too many offensive boards last year.
