My previous question is still unanswered. Does anyone know if Holden could play minutes at the 3? We saw Shaq play the 4 when we needed him. Don't see why Holden couldn't do that same.

I haven't watched any film on Holden but I'd say the most mobile big man would probably be Clark when healthy.

I would say no. The plan is to land a big and a wing. If we land Holden will be down to a wing. It will be tough landing one who can help right away because we have young wings in Evans and Cumberland already on the roster.

What if there is a injury? How about foul trouble? We need the Big.

I am not questioning whether we should want him. I am questioning why he would come. We have 5 bigs on the roster and two of those are predicted to play heavy minutes. If Holden comes he will battle it out to play back up minutes with 3 other players (at least 2 if we redshirt).

Foul trouble with 5 bigs is not an issue. Last year we redshirted Scott because we knew there wasn't enough time to go around...especially with the additional option of playing small ball with only one big on the court.

One the flip side...we are VERY thin on the wing. Out of our 3 players we have an underwhelming senior and an unproven frosh. If there is an injury (knock on wood) we would be in a really bad spot. You would be forced to play Jenifer a lot who was (in terms of minutes) one of our two worst players last year. None of our bigs can play the 3.

If I had to choose between a wing and a big there is NO question which position I would add depth.

My take on Holden is that he is a 4 that is athletic and strong enough to give some help at the 5, no way he ever moves to the 3, He will always have to be close to the basket on offense or setting screens.

That's the only place he can see minutes this year, A lot of people won't agree with me but I think moore will be better as a back up five this year than Brooks could be

I don't think anyone would disagree with that. I think that's why most are saying Brooks could be a redshirt and Moore can't be a 4.

and justin jackson was a pretty worthless player for 3 years until his senior year. Let Quad play his true position of a 5 first. With Ellis and Deberry there werent any minutes at the 5 and we forced Quad to play the 4 and ended up guarding guys around the 3 point line. He cant do that.

That is a pretty liberal use of the word "worthless". JJ played 13 minutes as a frosh and over 20 as a soph. If we could get 13 minutes out of Scott as a backup I would be VERY happy with that. It would mainly be defense, rebounding, and put backs.

I think people are really off if they believe that Tre Scott is not going to be a bigger part of this years team. He will be able to score inside and out. He handles the ball better than Clark. Scout in Georgia said he was best passer in state. Played WR on football team. He can shoot the 3. Everybody talks about Evans and Clark and Washington, I think Scott will be the biggest surprise of the year.

You could see what Justin Jackson brought to the table in his early years. He was a high energy guy who played great defense. Quadri has never once shown me he will be a reliable player for us. I want everyone to do well believe me, but it's not realistic quadri Moore was a flop and we have to cut our losses. He's probably the worse player in the mick Cronin era.
