Up next...Bowling Green! Looking to improve to 7-1, we can't overlook a game like this. Classic flat spot coming off of a big win with Butler on deck.

Game is 8 pm Sunday night on ESPNU.

Bowling Green is 3-4: Wins over Murray State (78-77), Morgan State (90-58), and Notre Dame College of Ohio (86-60). Losses to Oakland (78-70), South Dakota (78-72), UMKC (71-69), and Green Bay (77-61).

They have won 3 in a row. They are #203 in KenPom.

I'd guess we'll be -19.

Win and move on.

I'm pretty sure just a week or so ago Bowling Green was like 140 in KenPom. But I may be thinking of another team. If so, that's disappointing they're now down to 203. Could've been a non-schedule-killer.

Hopefully we can build up our bench in this game. Mainly our guards...Tre has been solid....but we need at least a 7 man rotation with quality depth. Jenifer? Cumberland?

Not really concerned with how much we win by. Just want to win and come out healthy. More important to me is that we keep building on chemistry. Would like to see us improve on our shot selection. I plan on paying attention to the amount of times we pass up a good look only to have to jack up a long 3 to beat the clock.

Looking for Jenifer, Scott, Brooks, and Cumberland to all play a lot in this one. Would be nice if they could all contribute.

Was going to say that. Our starters logged a lot of minutes Thursday night. If Clark's ankle is any issue right now, I'd sit him completely. Think we can win by 15-20 without him playing.

Couple of key figures:

Bowling Green does a good job of limiting offensive rebounds (allow 23%, 16th in the nation) versus Cincinnati who is 17th (38.2%) in offensive rebounding percentage. Should be a good test for the Bearcats.

Bowling Green is a terrible 2PT shooting team at just 41.9% (320th). It's no wonder they are such a bad offensive team. If that continues they are going to have a really tough time scoring.

we certainly need to develop the bench but we also need to develop that good flow with the starters. Gary seemed more assertive. Would like to build on that and getting Evans understanding what we need from him. What I don't want to see is us passing up good looks and throwing up a 3.

Waite, this is a sandwich game between 2 true road games vs Top 20 teams. Ideally, the bench guys would be able to shoulder a lot of the load so the starters don't have to kill themselves to win this game.

I understand that but our starters need the work. Our offensive showing Thursday was not a thing of beauty. Mick will need to find that balance of building chemistry with the starters and developing the bench. They both need attention.

I'm not saying the starters shouldn't play. They can get plenty of work in. None of them should have to play over 25-28 minutes though.

I agree. I just want to see a much better flow. As I mentioned I want to see guys taking good shots. So far we have been passing up some looks which at times force us to jack up bricks. I feel this is our biggest issue with the team.

Yeah the problem with "passing up a good shot for a great shot" is the shot clock. We take forever to get into anything and most of the time a good shot is all were gonna get. It's such a fine line with that message. Bc as you mentioned, Clark CANNOT pass up shots...but a guy like Johnson on the other hand needs to continue to play like he knows what a good shot is. Washington at times too.

yea it is a work in progress. I think Mick worked on offense last year early and we ran up the score on a bunch of cupcakes but when the real season started we had a bunch of bad habits to correct. Most of these kids come out of high school knowing how to score. I hope the offense can catch up with the defense.
