I love seeing the bench guys getting so many minutes.

First off Kyle is one of the best players in the country right now! His PER on ESPN right now is #7. Evans can be...but we need to find a way to get him more looks...or he needs to take it upon himself.

Secondly, coach said after the game this season would come down to how much we can get from our bench knowing already what we have in our starters. It's been solid...but we need them to get better as we go and we need to get them as many minutes as we can in easier games so we can play them with confidence in tough games.

Thirdly, Caupain, KJ, and Cumberland are shooting a combined 20% from 3. That's going to have to change unless we start relying more on Evans and Jenifer. Jenifer? I can't believe I am saying that but yes...he's stroking them confidently and taking open shots. 56%? Wow! I realize he had one lucky shot last night but...

Its always nice to see the bench guys get minutes. it generally means we are ahead and they are playing effectively. For a coach it is a fine line. Developing the bench and trying to form chemistry and cohesiveness with the starters. You also have to consider because of the complexity of the game the bench guys have to form a cohesiveness with the starters as well. They rarely know when they will be needed or who they are playing with. Different situations dictate PT. Lots go into building a team.

That's a good point Waite! They never know what the situation will be or who will be in the game with them when they come in. They just have to play the way coach wants them to when it's their time.

Every time Brooks plays he shows me something. Going to be a good player here.

He's starting to impress me more and more...especially as Quad starts to impress less and less. Bottom line is he has surpassed Q in the rotation and perhaps will even be ahead of Scott in matchups against certain bigs. Can anyone say Elhadji Tacko Sereigne Diop Fall? I didn't think so.

As I reflect on last nights game the one thing that keeps coming back to me is how smooth Washington is in the lane. That little left handed half hook is deadly. The only negative I see and it is really stretching to find it is bad fouls and at times he forces things just a tad. If he would kick it back out and then repost he would create better position for himself and maybe create some better looks for his teammates. Again I am nit picking because he has been very very effective, He is a guy the opposing Defense has to account for all the time.

Not only is his hook deadly...it is one of the more unguardable shots in basketeball. That's a combination that has lead to 18 PPG. Even more impressive is that Washington keeps saying after games how he's listening to coaches on how to improve and he seems very serious about it...not lip service. His post game pressers are about as good as they get in many different ways! Hyping his teammates, talking about improvements either he or the team can make, not being content with where they are, etc etc.

Being able to use it going to his left hand is also a advantage. Most people guarding him are not used to playing lefties.

I agree he really seems to have his head on straight. When Moore came over after being pulled I saw Washington trying to encourage him on the bench. Kid is a leader. It also has to be a plus that Brooks and Scott have to play against him everyday in practice. Also the more him and Clark play together the better we will be as a team. I love there little high low game they play. it usually means a basket or a foul.

Coach Cronin's substitutions/minute distribution last night was perfect for the kind of game it was.

FYI everyone who was wrong on the poll question is getting banned. We can't have the dead weight.

I was incorrect. I thought we might see a bit of a let down. Kyle is helping our mentality in many ways. His attitude is off the charts but his consistency is giving us a lot of confidence too. His poor shooting night is 40 percent and he's had 5 nights over 66 percent...that is demoralizing for the other team. He's been almost unguardable. His consistency must be stress relieving for us but his attitude must also be infectious.
