First time heading to Hinkle. Anyone have any suggestions on where to park/eat? Thanks in advance

The Sinking Ship and/or Twenty Tap are both good for food and libation. Decently close to Hinkle (few blocks) but worth grabbing a bite. If I was heading up this weekend (not due to family x-mas) I'd hit one or both of those places. Enjoy!

Heading to the game with a group of 4. We will be hitting up Scotty's Dawghouse before the game. Should be a great time on campus. I expect the pregame scene to be in full force by 130-2pm. :D. Hope I remember the game.

P.S. don't forget your airport bottles of liquor so you can continue your buzz during the game

I like the strategy we used against ISU. Play great D, get defensive rebounds, and take care of the ball.

We can win the game even on an off shooting night this way. If we shoot well in addition to these things...we will win for sure.

I love what this ISU did even for the fan base. Can hear a lot more confidence even within this blog.

Much needed for the fan base and the team. It's a start. Hopefully the kids learned how to win. Cronin couldn't have asked for a better scenario really. We went to a ranked senior laden opponent in a hostile environment (really one of the toughest places to win in the entire country)...shot poorly...and made it out alive. Mission accomplished! The players now know the things that are non negotiable.

Now hopefully he can focus on motion offense and becoming more efficient. Preach assertiveness and team basketball on offense. Lots of picks and extra passes and driving. Hopefully...lol:)

I'd love to win this game. But it will require us to continue to play stellar D against the 3 point shot.

Last year # vs the 3: 35.7%
This year # vs the 3: 29.8%

That's a huge difference and good for 48th best in the country at the 3 point percentage defense.

Such a difference it makes when we extend out the match up zone to past the 3 point line and even throw in some man to man. We are much quicker this year.

That being said, we're going to have to really lock down the 3 as Butler is shooting it at 37%.

They really excel how ever at score easy 2 point baskets.

We need to shutdown Martin and not give Avery Woodson any good looks from 3 and we should be familiar with both as Woodson played for Memphis and we played Martin last year.

3 more days.

It feels like a slower week since UC doesn't play at all during the week. Butler plays @ Indiana State tonight. They are 9.5 point favorites. Indiana State lost to Iowa State by 2. Also, Rothenstien tweeted earlier this week how this could be a trap game tonight for Butler with Cincinnati coming to Hinkle this weekend.

Excited to see the spread on this. When can we expect a pregame video from Cronin, Friday?

Usually it's 2 days before game day so I would expect a pregame presser on Thursday. I would expect UC to travel on Friday even though it's only 1.5 hours away.

Hopefully UC plays with the same amount of toughness and energy as they did at ISU. I also hope they remember how Butler physically took it to them last year. Ill never forget that final play when Butler just out hustled UC (Ellis and Clark? I think) for the loose ball and score on a couple of our guys to win. That play summed up the entire game.

I know it's cliche but big time players come up big in big situations and big time games. That being said I think we have added a couple of big time options which leaves me optimistic that we can change our close game/big game fortunes.

Luck can play a role but it mostly comes down to making luck happen for you. One of my favorite sayings...and I'll paraphrase...luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

I know it was over a month ago but we beat Indiana State without Evans. Hard to compare but does that give anyone confidence?

Not saying we will stroll into Hinkle and win by 15, but this has to give us more confidence, right? Granted, I rather have had Butler win.

Edit: as soon as I post this I get on Twitter and see someone tweeted the official game stats for the UC/ Indiana State scrimmage....we won 81-58.
