I watched the Butler/Indy St game and came away with a couple observations on Butler:

1) They have great spacing and passing on offense. With that great spacing, they have a very balanced inside/outside attack. They move without ball how I can only dream UC would one day. This can easily give our defense problems. I will also assume Butler shoots well from 3 on Saturday. (We know it's coming)

2) Although they don't have much height, Butler plays physical and has 3 guys that could cause some foul trouble for our big men. Wiseman, Martin, and Chrabascz. All are 6'7, mobile and play very physical. They rebound very well. We can not let those 3 guys out tough our players. I specifically watched Martin and Wideman and they use their body to their advantage to gain position.

Not much different from last year's team IMO. They will come out determined to make up for last night's loss. We have to be able to rebound and limit Butler's second and third opportunities. I hope Wideman and Martin don't get Washington in early foul trouble. I believe we should win the game but UC will have to channel their inner road warrior mentality.

Man it never fails. I remember ISU losing to Northern Iowa right before we played them last year too. They would have been a top 10 team.

No matter what, it would still be a huge win if we beat Butler and probably be a bigger win than any potential win we would pick up in our onference. At a very tough environment.

This week Butler, Florida and Xavier have already lost. I view it as we are sitting at #19. Win on Saturday and a few more top 25 teams lose, we are looking at being a top 15 team!

Butler is still #20 in KenPom. They're a very good team. But I don't buy into the "they'll come out swinging since they just lost" narrative. Both teams will be very hungry for this win. They don't suddenly get an advantage because they were exposed last night. Seems backwards.

I agree.

Sounds like Cronin better be ready to switch defenses if need be. Screaming "be tougher" doesn't always work when a team can shred a zone.

Sounds like a game we typically lose to fall out of the top 25.

Man I want this game Saturday. Will be a nice win on our resume.

I don't want to be fighting at the borderline of top 25 all year. This game is huge if we want to make a run for a top 4 seed. Its huge for home game fan support! It's huge for confidence! It may sound insane to call this a must win...but if we aspire to do big things...we gotta win or the road to a high ranking gets much tougher.

Road wins against ranked teams are a big part of the equation that is for certain. This is winnable.

So butler lost but still managed to make 10 3 pointers against Indiana state and Indiana state matched with 10 themselves. Either us hitting 3's or us shutting down 3 point shot is absolutely essential

Besides the free throws at the end evans looked soft and almost scared against iowa st. He needs to decide if he wants to be the man and Saturday is a perfect oppertunity
