any chances he transfers here to Cincinnati since he is leaving the Rutgers program which is in complete shambles with the news of Mike Rice?
UC and Rutgers were his final two choices and he chose them because of a very strong relationship with an assistant coach.

Also Amir Garrett, the St. John's forward is also transferring. It was rumored he was quitting basketball altogether to focus on baseball (he was drafted by the Reds a couple years back and is in the minor leagues), but now he has said he wants to be with another program next year. Possibly his connection with the Reds could lead him to a transfer to Cincinnati? He could seriously help down low next season with his 6'8 frame and he can get up and down the floor.

Seagears would be a great addition to the squad as well because he could fill in right away at the point guard position and he can shoot and lead a team.

Any transfer would not be eligible next season so there won't be help down low except from current players or Strickland.

Could Seagears get a waiver to play right away w/ the whole Rutgers thing? Remember, it is the NCAA, you never know until you ask for a waiver. He'll, you could just find a grad program the other schools don't have and play for a year w/o sitting out.

Was looking on the Rivals page for Seagears and noticed he played for DC Assault. I wonder if Antwon Jackson was coaching there when he played.

Willie Moore from Aiken is leaving Oregon as well and according to several reports will end up close to home.

Everyone is talking about transfers that could maybe come here next year. Where does the scholarship come from? Mick still is one over as of right now.

Mick has always said he is never done recruiting and that scholarships work themselves out. In fact, pretty much every coach lives by this mantra. I don't think any transfers will be coming here but if Mick had an opportunity to land a big who could contribute offensively next year without having to sit out, I think he would be interested for sure. I haven't seen one of those yet, though.

Still doubtful it happens but here's a Zagoria update:

Rutgers guard Jerome Seagears has gotten his release and has a long list of suitors.

“I have my full release from rutgers. I am very excited to explore my options. My Hs coach @ flora MacDonald will be helping me now!” he Tweeted.

Derrick Bond, Seagears’ coach at Flora MacDonald (N.C.) Academy, said Arkansas, Auburn, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall and Minnesota were interested.

The 6-foot-1 native of Silver Springs, MD averaged 6.5 points and 2.6 assists. He opted to transfer in the wake of the Mike Rice video scandal.

Who do we get rid of to take him? If he can play immediately, get rid of Guyn, IMO. If not, I have no clue what they do....

6.5 points and 2.6 assists last season is more than any returning or incoming pg averaged in college a year ago. If you can upgrade you upgrade. That said I don't believe he'll end up at UC but it wouldn't bother me if he did.

Kevin Johnson is leaving Seton Hall. He is a 6'10" wide body who needs to upgrade his conditioning. My guess he heads back West but we'll see. The bearcats recruited him for the 2011 class. He had academic issues and when he signed with Seton Hall it was a surprise because he never took a visit.

I agree I would love to have him and as far as letting someone go i would tell Johnson to prep for a year since he isnt going to play much this year or let Guyn transfer he is just not developing fast enough and to foul pron.
