I agree with most of your points, but I would almost flip-flop points 4 and 5. To me, Mick is a decent Xs and Os gameplanner. You can tell that we vary things based on opponent and scouting report and we have been successful more times than not with that. I think he is going to keep the offensive scheme in house. I view him as a good CEO-type coach that does a good job motivating and developing a plan to attack each opponent. I think his weakness is in the details of developing specific skills for his existing players. I would love for a new assistant to be hired who could actually work on a kid's shot or dribbling. Whoever is doing that type of teaching currently hasn't seemed to get through at least from an outsider's view.
Anyway, I would rather hire somebody for #5 on your list than #4. I have the impression that his assistants are primarily relied on for recruiting. That has it's advantages, but at least one guy on staff needs to excel in player development. Maybe that guy exists, but I'm not sure.
