If you are ok with a half full arena full of Ralph's, loyal to the death and butt on hands, then keep Cronin and his "personality". If you want to fill the house with a bunch of rabid basketball fans night after night, roll the dice. Eventually someone will stick.
I want to keep MC.

thanks. My last one graduates for TOSU this year. 5k is doable. Would love to sit down low.

Everyone's donations are different, so if you're serious contact the athletic department. Depending on # of people and if you're just looking for basketball the donation might be lower. Sitting down low is great and at this point the only reason why half the people down there keep their tickets is for fear that they won't be able to get them back if they cancel them and we suddenly get back to where we were as a program. I've lost faith that will ever happen with Mick at the helm.

can you let me know how much of a donation is required.

Waite, you seriously know how the whole college basketball world feels about Mick Cronin, yet you don't even know what the different UCATS donations are??? And you continually call people dilusional when they disagree with you. Well my friend, the vast majotity of UC fans aren't dilusional, and they definitely don't think like you. Because you have a friendly little group of supporters on this site who think just like you and have your back, doesn't mean you think like most fans do. You definitely don't I assure you. I have two seats right next to me that are always empty and many more in my section empty all the time. If you seriously want to sit down there, you wouldn't be asking UCBearcats how much the donation is. You would have been contacting UCATS on you own to upgrade.

He is trying to call someone out on a perceived bluff lol. Season tickets down low are not hard to come by these days.

The whole idea of UCATs is dumb. We need to reinvent a way so that we can still keep the big donors, but also so that those seats get filled with lively fans instead of grouchy old people.

Completely agree, Jack. Question is, how will you replace the income from those absent money bags?

My group is younger, all in our mid to late 30's. It's not just grouchy old people down there although there are definitely some.

Athletic departments don't believe in the redistribution of wealth. They believe in dollars. The way you fill those seats and create demand is to get your fan base to buy in. The way you do that is to win and win big.

Exceed your fan base's expectations, don't lower them.

Jack, I've already reinvented it. I tell all my friends to go pay $17 for the cheap seats, and move down to the empty seats around me. It may not be what the administration wants, but I'm at least bringing in money from people that would otherwise not attend. I would have offered Waite that chance, but he called me delusional and I'm now grouchy.

Does Duke, UNC, UK, etc. have this type of program? I don't think it helps us in the long run, it only gives us more money up front. If we truly wanted to be great than just a decent team, we wouldn't settle for UCATs, it isn't what is best for the program.

Don't know, that is the proverbial million dollar question. If we had solid fan support, there would be no need for UCATs. UCATS is just a way to make sure that you have a steady flow of income, as no UCATs member would buy the crappy early season games against South Carolina Downriver or whoever the hell we played for face value if they had a choice. I would do what the Reds do and switch to Dynamic pricing.

It's not about the ticket sales, its about the donations. Every school does this, the better your donation the better your seat opportunities. UC is making a lot more money from donations than they are from ticket sales.

1. I'm entitled to my opinion same as you.

2. I don't call all people who disagree with me dilusional. I called you dilusional.

3. I attend both Basketball and Football games. I have not checked into season tickets because My son was a athlete at a different University and traveling to his events took up most of my time. Now that he has graduated and back home I can devote more of my time to watching the Cats. Prior to that I was doing a 20 hitch in the military. So Please don't try to tell me what i'm serious about. Once again your dilusional.

An Ohio State University, there are numerous state universities in Ohio, including TUC. :)
Oh Jack I couldn't possibly say that around the house. Him and my youngest daughter are buckeyes and they are completely ate up with it. My oldest is a UD grad. The only one who followed in Dads footsteps was the oldest boy who joined the Marrines. Myself I'm a Rollins college grad. Unfortunately the reds just traded aaway one of our alums, Ryan Hannigan. They fired one as well Jim Bowden. As you can imagine there is plenty of arguements over at our place. lol been a UC fan all my life. Went to Purcell High School which gave us Derrick Dickey. Grew up in Norwood which is not the home of Xavier University no matter what some may think.

L_T i'm 60 years old. Been going to Cincinnati sporting events since the days of Crosely Field. The art of buying a cheap seat and moving down to a empty seat is not a new concept. LMAO!!!!

The NCAA has a show cause on him because he invited Aaron Craft to a BB-Q and later lied about it. Craft's dad was apparently rubbed the wrong way by Pearl and assisted in their investigation. So basically he was guilty of lying to the big bad NCAA, which is an organization that is basically based on a lie.

Like I said, in the grand scheme of things what he did wasn't that bad.

Bruce Pearl will never be the head basketball coach at UC, you can write it down and circle it.
