Some of you are so incredibly biased. The fact is the KJ clipped him causing him to trip.

I've watched the play a few times and there isn't even a little contact. KJ cuts in front of the player, but it's pretty clear the guy fell because his own ankle twisted. The picture quality sucks, but you should be able to see that for yourself. ESPN isn't the end-all-be-all of sports reporting, but even they commented on the questionable call. If I saw their legs get tangled that would be much different.

It doesn't matter in the end, because UC won. That's really the most important thing.

Those 4,000 empty seats were eerily quiet though. If we can get them making some noise, we'll have something. If we don't get near capacity on Saturday, I'm going to be very disappointed. Would love to see the team rewarded for last night's performance with a huge crowd. This will potentially be a crazy game of pressing and running and dunking and we need the players to feed off of the energy of a raucous crowd.

Yeah I expected more people there, but the people that did show up made their presence known. We'll go no matter the day or time, other people might see a Wednesday game at 9 PM a little differently. Plus students are on break... Hopefully Saturday sees 12,000+

I'm glad we won. But, let's not get carried away. SDSU scored 36 points against Washington and is coming off a one-point, comeback home victory against a 5-6 Long Beach State team.

With that said, I liked the offensive lineup in the second-half, featuring Cobb at the point, Troy off the ball, and Sanders on the wing. It's the most efficient offensive lineup, and Coach went with this lineup down the critical stretch. Troy focuses more on scoring when he is off the ball. Cobb and Sanders space the floor with shooting.

Yes, KJ fouled the guy. Solid win. Let's get VCU, we need it...

SDSU played with Arizona the whole game. That tells me all I need to know about them. And Washington is undefeated. And LBSU has 6 losses bc they play a ridiculous schedule. They lost to Washington, SDSU and Xavier...but also beat Xavier and Kansas State.

Anyway, the point is we know we can play with anyone. We clearly weren't ready for Ole Miss and the Nebraska game was well...But last night could easily have been a turn the corner win for this group.

While I'm ecstatic that they won, I find it tough to believe that anyone thinks they were good offensively last night. I'd be curious what the number was prior to OT because they were very efficient in OT. In regulation it was a constant struggle to even get a decent look. They forced 18 turnovers so they should have had a number of easy baskets which makes the PPP look better.

Without a doubt they have aways to go but let's not totally poo poo the fact that they shot 47%.

The first half was awful. The second half was much better, especially at the end of the game when it really mattered. It was also nice to see guys who were aggressive in looking for their shot - DeBerry and Morman both looked to score. Morman LOOKED awful, but we need guys who want to shoot instead of just passing around the perimeter. Cobb and Caupain make some big shots and Clark made an excellent move to bail us out of that late shot clock inbound play towards the end of regulation. Those are good things.

I'm just hoping we can continue to improve - VCU scares me a little but with their press, but they also turn the ball over and don't seem to shoot very well (at least in the games I've watched).

I think Coach Davis nailed it in his postgame comments. TC also said they worked on situational things this week in an attempt to play smarter. The coaching staff must read the message boards.

Gotta say, Morman's blocked three "not in my house" near the end was pretty silky smooth, if I'm not misattributing it.

With last year off you would of thought that Morman would have worked on his shot. Doesn't appear that way

I am so impressed by Gary Clark. He is really good in traffic when going to the basket or going up for a rebound. He gets fouled a lot bc he's usually in the right spot. That's an underrated skill. He just has superior basketball instincts and the athletic ability to put that into practice. He's one of the best freshmann I've seen all year. He just doesn't seem to struggle with inconsistency the way most 1st year players do. He is going to be a big time player in college basketball as he slowly extends his range over time.

I think Troy will develop into our go to guy...

Cincinnati sophomore PG Troy Caupain is averaging 11.7 PPG, 5.3 APG, + 3.7 RPG over his last three games. Getting better and better.

Can we dispense with the "Morman sucks" comments. I guess I'm seeing something completely different in that kid. Don't get me wrong, he's not perfect and makes his share of mistakes, but I like him a lot! He does a lot of things that don't show up on the stat sheet. He brings a level of intensity, quickness and attitude that I love. He is one of the few that can create higher percentage shots for himself by getting the ball inside. Granted, he's in a shooting slump, but he had some awesome defensive plays last night. He makes free throws. His potential excites me and I'm always happy when Mick puts him in because I want to see him play. I have visions of Immanuel McIlroy and Herb Jones defensively when I watch him. He's a redshirt freshman and I like him better than some of the ones who get more playing time.

The personal attacks on him and Shaq Thomas are ridiculous. Especially coming from guys that have probably never played competitive basketball beyond the 8th grade...

Morman has a role. He is a great on the ball defender. I also agree with your comment on another thread about Guyn. If we would of had him against Nebraska we would have won.

I don't like having Shaq and Morman in the game together. But there was a point in the 1st half where both KJ and Morman were playing swarming defense. That's nice to have. I also like how Morman is the 1st guy I see jumping off the bench to go nuts when one of his teammates makes a big play. If he continues to embrace his role, he can mean a lot to this team.

Huge win. First time this year an AAC team beat a ranked opponent. Take care of VCU on Saturday and all of a sudden the Ole Miss and Nebraska losses are in the distant past.

umm no. those two 100 rpi losses will still be on the resume.

sdsu is just horrible on offense. i can't belive how many wide open threes they got on uc defense. cats were lucky they brick eveyone till that lil flurry they had at the end. sdsu didn't miss because of uc defense either, they just cant score.

in reality uc just beat a team that is worse then itself on offense, at home. a team that has been reeling since the season started. a team that will be out of the top 25 on monday after this performance. but i don't expect many will take the red and black glasses off and see the fact.

much can be said about vcu also. but they are better then both on offense.

I was hoping to see more DeBerry in the second half. Mick always plays starters to start the 2nd half, but I think he should have been in the lineup with the aggressiveness he showed

This game reinforced for me the 4 guys who need to be on the court as much as possible. Ellis, Clark, Caupain, and Cobb all need to be on the floor for 30+ minutes right now for several reasons. If we can just get one more quality starter to step up and play the 3 this team can win some games. We have solid back ups to fill in spot minutes. Thomas would be the perfect guy if Mick could get him on the right page...but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

I think they will still lay a few eggs before it's all over. They have shown potential to win a big game and potential to put up a stinker. Now we need consistency. I don't think we will get as consistent as we want until Mick figures out the right recipe of players, roles, and minutes. As the season progresses those players and roles will become better defined and chemistry will continue to develop.

Good win!! Still a long way to go

That's just the west side in you supporting a west coast team lol. Take off your "west coast glasses"
