I really didn't think it was that good, but compared to some of yours, I can understand where you're coming from.

Was that an "I know you are but what am I" response? How the university has not hired you as head coach or at least AD is the biggest mystery in NCAA history.

I know you despise Cronin, but who is you're ideal REALISTIC replacement if he shits the bed this year? or top 3?

Oh please, not this goofy question again. Here's my realistic response. There are approximately 333 head coaches in Division 1 basketball who are making less money than Mick Cronin. We are about to rebuild our arena to like new condition. We have some of the greatest facilities in all of college basketball. Outside of the many Division 1 coaches who would put their name in the hat to make $2.5 Million a year, there are tremendous coaches in the other divisions looking for their chance in Division 1. There are phenomenal assistant coaches working for coaching legends waiting for their first chance. We would have our pick of the litter.....top pay, top facilities, new arena, great tradition, depleted fanbase waiting to explode. Do I really need to give you names?

Actually names should be required. If your solution is to dump the head coach and "see what happens" then you should not be taken seriously in your critique.

Holy smokes. This is so insanely far from true. Not sure our facilities are even top 100. Xavier currently smokes UC in facilities. We've spent the last 5 years pouring money into football when it was pretty much too little too late. Then that Tuberville guy completely killed it.

If you're talking in 2018, then you may be onto something. The new arena will be very legit. But, as of right now, that is so bogus. Maybe you don't notice when you're in the lower level all the time like you claim to be. If it were, we wouldn't need to completely gut our current arena.

Lol! Really? Do we really have to explain this to you again? Just go back probably to the spring of this year and read the posts. My God!

Not this again. Some people will never understand how attractive of a job this could be for the right candidates. So many positives for the PROGRAM but they are fixated on the COACH.

NTS in todays game I really don't see it that way. I think we can attract good coaches but where the game and the networks are taking us is scary. Not nearly the same as it was 10 years ago.

I agree there are positives, but when every post is about how nobody wants to see cronin ball then of course its gonna be about the coach. I think the majority of people are optimistic about the current team and season but it frustrating that there is so much doom and gloom talk over a 5-1 start. Say we start 5-2 while losing to 2 higher ranked opponents on the road. What am i missing about that being an out of the ordinary thing? Sure i'd like to be the exception but more often than not, that is the rule.

I think it's in the best interest of UC basketball to have Coach Cronin running the program. He's a very ideal fit. We haven't won many big games lately though...that part is what's frustrating. It can feel like the same thing over and over and you can almost count on watching things unravel down the stretch. That has to change.

Here, this is all I'm going to give you. Check out who is number 2. In case you don't know, recruits pay a lot more attention to the real athletic training facilities than just the building that the games are played in. Also, a recruit couldn't give a rat's ass about how your view is from the upper deck and how comfortable your ass is on those bench seats. Our arena still looks very nice. It is not run down and it is not a dump. That is what they see. We have also spent many millions more on our facilities since the attached article came out.

Then. Why. Are. They. Renovating. It.

Also, the recruits may not care, but the fans that want to attend a game do. Which is absolutely a factor in an era where everyone and their mom owns a 60" 4K HDTV.

We had two all conference players last year who are so far our 3rd and 4th best option this year. It's not even been close. Troy and Gary were basically forced into being our best players last year with little quality depth. Gary was still not as aggressive as we needed him to be even last year and so far this year seems content to be even less of a scoring contributor. Troy was asked to do so much that it became a volume thing for him last year. I hope his efficiency starts to get better soon.

Scott is a very solid back up. Cumberland is hopefully starting to see the light. Jenifer is a capable back up PG and offers solid minutes to the wing.

If we can't raise the bar under these circumstances...we may never raiser the bar under Cronin. Next year looks good too but I'm just sayin...

I agree with all this. People seem to think that just because you want Cronin to remain our coach means you're okay with early exits and 9-seeds. I prefer to look to the future, and I like what I see. I don't see a new coach coming in here and having all kinds of quick success. Could we fire Mick and hire someone that really lights a fire under the program and makes us really legit? Absolutely. But I really don't think the odds are in our favor. I think it's more likely that we regress and fade than improve. Would much rather take our chances with Mick.

If it's 2019 and we haven't seen beyond the 1st round nor a seed better than 8, then I could see myself getting on the "time to move on" bandwagon. But it would take a lot of mediocrity for me to get there. For my fellow Bengals fans, it took me a while to get on the "fire Marvin" bandwagon, but since yet another playoff loss last year, I was there before this season started. The Bengals are completely stuck in mediocrity (that's being generous this season). I don't think UC is there yet. We're not incredibly far from it, but still not there yet.

Counterpoint...you realize that most of the other facilities are dedicated to one sport. UC's is lumped together for every sport. Still extremely nice by the looks but its can't be compared to a $70 million exclusive football center like the other facilities on that list.

active shooter at Ohio State university. 7 wounded one dead at this time. What the #uck is wrong with this world.

Ahhhh! Good point. The impact of HDTV. I agree with you on that one. But, in all honesty, if our performance on the floor and in recruiting was better, I still believe people would leave those HDTVs and come to the game. They come when we play someone decent, even with mediocre players. I believe we could get the fans back with a better program.
