Our substitutions and free throws were my biggest issue with the game today. Beating the #3 team in the country is so tough but you have to make your free throws.

WHY was Steve Toyloy in the game so much late in the game?

When we had 2 straight shot clock violations it was because we had NO ONE who could have scored. Saving legs is useless if your down 10 with 4 minutes left.

I thought Mick had a good enough gameplan. Deonta and others MUST shoot better. Mick's substitutions really have me scratching my head.

I agree.....then he tries to sub in Yancy and Vaughn with 4 minutes to go when were down 10. Who knows what he's thinking sometimes....

I was out w/ the fam. Going to have to watch the (apparently) painful game after the SB.

I think he needed to get Yancy and Vaughn in earlier. I understand him sitting some of those players when UC was up, because they needed to rest, just seems he sat them too long.

Another game with poor free throw shooting and falling apart at the end. The first comment on the post game show was another excuse about the refs. I'm tired of exuses. I see 1 or 2 more wins.

Not an excuse. He was absolutely correct about that call and it crushed momentum. I will never know how that was a shooting foul.

I know fans don't like it when players or coaches (or even fellow fans) pass blame on to the officials, but it's often true in basketball.

In basketball, unfortunately the refs have as much impact on the outcome of the game as either team. Everyone is at their mercy because the calls are so subjective and inconsistent from game to game.

Most of the girl teams have players with excellent fundamentals and can shoot/make FT's. Funny how being athletic often is at the expense of those, as well as having good basketball IQ.

I've seen fat kids in intramural games shoot a better free throw percentage, hell I've seen women shoot better, and we all know women's basketball is a sorry excuse for an excercising activity.

Well, Fat Kids HAVE to be good shooters to make up for the fact that they are...fat and cant really do much else so if they cant shoot the ball they might as well stick to doing something they are good at. Like bowling..
