I've never been more frustrated with a Bearcat player than with Ellis. He's 6'10 but plays at times like he's 5'10. Been a very frustrating year all together, especially with the on court smarts. The team has some talent, but apparently not enough to overcome their mental mistakes. Orlando will be fun, lol

Has no understanding of toughness.... one or two plays go bad and he's done for the game. Just fragile.

How many games has a cincinnati basketball team actually been beaten the last 3 years compared to us blowing a game?

You make your free throws, your uncontested 3s, your 1 foot layups/dunks and we win that game by atleast 15. We still have way too much trouble on fast breaks, at will the other team would drive the lane and make shots, we cannot do that at all, none of our guards penetrate the lane, unless they really really have to...ie. troy at the end. Where is that the entire game? 15 seconds left down by 1 and you shoot a 3? my pissed off self would put a lock and chain on the gym like coach carter. This team, sorry to say it, is just dumb

The bright side of uconn beating Tulsa is that they are around 35 in rpi now and smu is top 20...

We need those two games badly. Can't lost east Carolina.

Also we need to hope vcu and George Washington keeps winning. They both could get into the top 50 rpi again and we'd have 4 wins already plus 2 against smu and uconn. 6 would be enough

We win out we would have the same record as last year. We even lost first round of the AAC to uconn. You would think this year We win at least one. Its really not over but boy are we hanging on barley

We weren't going to be satisfied last night until we lost that game. We seriously had to try to lose. So many bad plays.

And what's with Cronin "feeling bad" for his players? He said that about Kevin Johnson after the Xavier game, and said it again last night about Clark, Ellis and Evans. Then he wants to say we are too nice. Lol. Well coach, when you feel pity for your players, it's no wonder they play with no mental toughness. And it's no wonder we collapse with inexplicable lapses down the stretch.

I'll go with the experts, UC's toast IF they don't win the American Tour. You guys, ( including me ) are to close to this team, and can't look at this conf. and team realistically. The bright side is this team might be a #1 or 2 seed in the NIT, right?

Mick's best team ever, PLEASE!!!

Yeah, and IF the queen had balls, well you know how it goes. NO WAY we win out, @ Houston is a LOSS!

We had much better wins last year, didn't we?

^And on this note, does anyone think Cronin will address mental lapse, after boneheaded play, after poor display of fundamentals? I kind of doubt it. He literally feels bad for our grown men. He will address our awful defense, and nothing else. Then next big game, we will find an insane way to lose all over again bc we are mentally weak. And coach will just chalk it up as something you can't control.

Last year vs this year quality wins to losses - I'd say last year was worse. I mean we lost to Tulane and ECU. That's extremely bad. If we sweep UCONN that's comparable to sweeping SMU last year. VCU and GW wins are comparable maybe to SDSU and NCST. Then beating SMU at home will be like beating UCONN once last year. We don't get bounced right away in the AAC tourney this year with Kenyon Martin looking down. There's some hope, but no room for error.

why cant we go 4 guards and Gary? Caupain cobb evans shaq and gary? Get out Ellis out of there. He is a liability. It is awful watching him trying to catch a ball and make a move. Can't get hung up on the missed layups because he actually does finish usually but God he is still just awful. No jumper either.

I'd take Ellis over Shaq Thomas every single day of my life.

Because Octavius Ellis is a really good defensive player.
