we all knew this was going to be a tough game, the next two are going to be just as tough, we have to find consistant play at the 2 I understand kj is good at the press, but we are giving up a lot on offense when he is in the game.

KJ single handily brought all our momentum to a screeching halt at least once in the second half.

UConn turned up the pressure in a must win game at home and our guards weren't strong enough with the ball to handle it.

Best summation for this game.

9 minute mark and Ellis has 3 fouls...nothing wrong with him sitting for a few. And Moore had a better game than Clark today...nothing wrong with having him in to try to knock down a shot when the offense is struggling. I'm done talking about this, so say whatever else you'd like but I'm not going to respond to it.

You can not respond, and that's fine, but from the 8:58 mark to the 5 minute mark we got outscored 7-2. There was a TV timeout at 7:09. Ellis can play at that point with 3 fouls. But he didn't.

It was a killer stretch and I don't think those guys have played together in important spots (if at all) the entire season. Not really a reason to do it today.

Chalk that loss up to mental mistakes down the stretch. Two key fouls by Thomas resulting in 4 points, the travel by Clark, and add into that a three by Moore that went half down then popped out followed by 2 offensive boards and the Cats couldn't score. In the end UCONN had a playmaker and UC made mistakes.

Three UCONN guards scored 41 points. Our main three scored 26 and Caupain scored 14 of those. Frankly I think TC was the only player that answered the toughness of UCONN.

Clark, Ellis and Thomas had 9 turnovers and (though I know they weren't) it seems every single one was in a big moment in the game. Don't know where Clarks head was but he didn't show up today.

I wonder the reasoning of Cobb only playing 14 minutes. Only the 3rd time he's been under 20 minutes all season (last time was vs Stony Brook.)

My guess is that, until late in the 2nd half, our offense was playing well without his contributions. Considering that, perhaps Larry thought KJ's defense (he was often matched up on Boatright) was more important in this game.

And now I see the fickleness of the Cincinnati fan come out. The great Larry Davis lost the game due to poor coaching and sub patterns? LMAO!!!!!! This was a young team in a tough environment. No shame losing to the Huskie at home. I'm disappointed the Cats weren't mentally stronger and feel the players largely gave the game away but it is what it is. On to the next.

Cobb couldn't guard Boatright and was too small to guard their shooting guard. He was also awful handling the ball just like the rest of the back court. Davis had no choice but to leave Caupain in most of the game.

First of all, there's no shame in losing on the road at UCONN. I think we are the better team and it was a game that sadly was there for the taking....much like Nebraska. Some thoughts....

1) The momentum shift that occurred with Cobb's bonehead play just before half was huge. It's hard to blame one play for a loss, but in this particular loss, that one was huge.

2) The 2nd half officiating was atrocious and we definitely got homered. We were in the bonus quick and the discrepancy in FTs was the difference in the game. They shot almost twice as many as we did.

3) Other than Caupain, our guard play was atrocious. Still struggling with the amount of time given to KJ. He hurt us, but in this game, so did Cobb.

4) The inside game on offense was also horrible. Clark may have had his worse game.

5) Quadri was a breath of fresh air and is a real bright spot to take away from the game.

6) The effort was great and the defense was active. Again, the refs are the only reason UCONN got to 60.

In spite of some negatives, we could have won and we'll learn from this. Let's get the next two!

Tough 5 game stretch to start conference play with SMU, @UConn, @Memphis and Temple. If we could come out that stretch 4-1, we will be in good position to win the conference.

We'll be ready to get them back at the end of the month. I'm glad we play Memphis next. Should be very focused and ready to go in that one.

4 UC guards combined for 3 turnovers you might want to rethink that.

UConn only had 8 FT attempts until the last 90 seconds.
