sigh..
1. you would think after a major coach makes fun of you for blaming every loss on being young you would chill out on it.
How long ago was this? Miller must have been referencing a time when we actually WERE in the process of rebuilding. Before this team how long has it been since Cronin said we have a "young team"? The last several years we have been pretty experienced with guys like SK, JJ, Gates, Wright, Dixon, Parker, Sanders, etc.
2. yea sorry you don't have a 25 year old man to play against college kids this year. is this the only way we won't be young?
Young can mean a few things. Age. It can mean young in terms of experience as in D1 or playing time. It can mean young as a team with a lot of new parts that haven't played together very much. Age really doesn't mean much...it's the other two that matter more.
3. why are your sr and jr being out played by your younger guys? that's not the teams fault but the product of your recruiting.
Not all recruits pan out.
4. this is the college level and every one is roughly the same age and every school brings in new kids and lose kids at the sametime as you do. if you don't have your older kids ready and prepared to step up that's on you and the development of your kids.
It is pretty rare to have 7 new players come in. Even more rare to have them play high level D1 BB...unless perhaps they are made up of McDonalds AA's.
5. i never heard the young excuse before mick arrived. now it's almost like brain washing that even the fans are using it almost as much as mick does.
We really haven't had a reason to use it (young team) in about 3-4 years or so. We have had pretty experienced teams with guys like SK, JJ, Gates, Wright, Dixon, Parker, Sanders, Guyn etc. This year is much different than the last several.
I am not a Cronin apologist...but I don't think it's rational to expect a team with as many changes to come in and play like they have been together for 3-4 years.
