He wasn't when I saw him on his recruiting visit at the game. He looked pretty solid to me.

Apparently, Jermaine Sanders and Jeremiah Davis were in action today for superiorcars.
Sanders scored 18, on 8-15 shooting, had 6 boards, 2 assists and a block.
Davis scored 12, on 5-16 shooting, with 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 TO's
Wasn't at the game, but based on the stat line, it looks like we have another athletic volume shooting 2 guard to replace Dixon; in Davis.

Sanders seems intriguing.
I don't know what role he'll play, but I would expect his production to improve. Last year, he seemed really uncomfortable in summer league.

davis is nowhere close to the athlete that dixon was. dixon was a plus athlete and davis is a mediocre athlete by college basketball standards.

however, i do think that sanders takes the biggest jump of the freshmen this past year. he can really shoot it. hopefully he feels more comfortable in the flow of the game this year.

As you all know I have always been high on Sanders. I think a year of experience and a strong offseason does wonders for him.

davis mediocre? i dont think we seen enough of him to make a harsh statement like that. lets give the kid a chance and see what role cronin will have in store for him

I've seen plenty of plus athletes that were good b-ball players. Dixon was not a good three point shooter and made many dumb decisions. I'll take the guy who can shoot from all over and make good decisions any day of the week. I think JDIII will turn out to be better than Dixon.

He just said he's a mediocre athlete, not player. He can become a solid player but by watching him last season, you can see he is average as a pure athlete.

Made a comment and the board descends into chaos.
I don't think he has the lateral speed or jumping ability of Dixon, but I do consider him to be more athletic than most of our other 2's.
Dixon was a freak, I'm not sure why he took a step backward in his shooting all across the board his senior year. That said, his speed and ability to get around defenders and get steals as well as take it to the rim, won us games we otherwise don't win.
I think some under value his contributions.
He was also the only one, with a quasi decent handle when Wright was out.
He should have been on the wing the last 2 years, and due to a lack of depth, he really couldn't be.
I'm glad we have some true 3's now, in Shaquille Thomas, Titus Rubles and perhaps Jermaine Sanders.

As for how good Jeremiah Davis will be, that's on him and the staff.
He's got plenty of potential.

Where are you seeing chaos? This is just a discussion.

Nomad is right. Everyone on here is downplaying the loss of Dixon..

"he couldn't shoot", "he wasnt very good his senior year" blah blah blah

Dion Dixon was a winner. He single handily won and closed a lot of games for us getting to the line late, hitting clutch fts, playing great d, and snagging crucial rebounds. He was an athletic freak that was a leader. Mick loved his intensity and toughness

Uc can't replace him with any individual. It's gotta be a replacement by committee.

He's clearly not the athlete that Dixon is, but calling him a mediocre athlete is way too harsh. Last year at WVU he drove into the paint and made a midair, no-look pass around the defender to Mbodj for a layup. It was one of the more athletic plays I've seen a UC guard make in a while.

I love Davis' game. By the time he's a Senior I think he's going to be a great player. To paraphrase John Rothstein; there is so much Jordan Taylor in JDIII.

Dixon was my favorite Bearcat his sophomore year. I just felt like he peaked, never improved his three point shot much, and cost us some games with dumb decisionmaking.

I like when players peak their senior years with lots of hard work, like KMart, Logan, Brannen, etc. It just seemed like Dixon regressed a bit.

wasn't arguing which i prefer or who would be better. was just saying that i disagreed with him saying davis was an "athletic shooting guard."

this post is ridiculous, simply because for 3 straight years mick constantly called out dixon's lack of day to day intensity in his post game shows, radio shows, tv shows, and press availabilities. the thing that mick liked the least about dixon was his inability to remain focused and bring intensity, especially as an upperclassman leader.

saying he's a mediocre athlete in college bball standards is not taking it the wrong way. saying Dion is not replaceable is wrong

That's not at all what I implied, on either count.
It wasn't a harsh thing to call him a mediocre athlete. That's taking it the wrong way.
I never said Dixon couldn't be replaced, there are better guards.
I just don't think SK has the handle, the defense or the explosiveness and Parker hasn't got the hops or the explosiveness. He had a unique set of talents.

The program will move on, I'm just saying, his contributions were necessary last season. A lot of pressure will be on the newbs. They'll have to step up, to make up for the rebounds and scoring and clutch plays that left after last season.

Anyone denying that, obviously didn't watch this team during the tourny.
