I have thought about this too. He could rotate in at the 2 and 3 and get starters minutes. Like i said this line up will be very versatile.

I agree, I don't think who starts is as important versus the overall minutes distribution. Parker or Thomas might not start but they will see plenty of court time. Mick may lean on an upperclassmen like Parker to be on the floor at the end of games as we get into Big East play.

Thomas is going to be a stud. So long and athletic. He will get a ton of time this year IMO. I really wouldnt mind him starting and bringing Park off the bench. I love Parker and understand his value starting but I also am very big on having a player who can score coming off the bench.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I mentioned it above. Parker seems like a perfect 6th man to me in the mold of James Harden. In the end, it probably doesn't matter with our promising guard rotation. We should have scorers on the floor at all times.

If JDIII backs up Cash, then I don't see Guyn playing that much this year. Because I see a rotation of Wright, S K, Parker, then JDIII, Sanders, and Shaquille Thomas. And Thomas may very well back up JJ at the 4 when they go to a smaller lineup. You may even see Wright, S K, Parker, Thomas, JJ with no true center. Lots of possibilities. Looking forward to it.

Cash
SK
Quon
Shaq
Jackson

How many true Power forwards are there in college basketball?? Most end up playing the center position out of need(Yancy). I think Shaq could learn to play the 4.

Defensively you would see Parker guarding the other team's four much more often than Shaq would.

Personally, I'm cool with that. I thought Parker did fine guarding 4's last year and this year's team is likely to play a much more uptempo game anyway.

I don't really care who starts, but when the chips are on the line, let's get the best players on the floor even if it makes us small. Cash,SK,Shaq,Parker,JJ is our best 5 as of today IMO.

Not many teams in the country would be able to keep up with our 4 and 5 men in this lineup running the floor. Could be an explosive offense.

That is extremely small. Wed have a tough time getting boards without at least one bruiser down there. But still, hard to argue against that lineup. It would be quick.

No doubt Shaq is one of the most talented on the team, but he still is rail thin and it will take some time to get back in the flow.

As a starting lineup, I see:

Cash, Killa, Parker, Jackson, and Cheikh

i am excited for shaq...but how can anyone say he is one of our best 5 without ever seeing him step foot on a college floor one time? no one has any idea if he can guard in the big east. lets temper our expectations on him for a minute here.

I think you bring parker off the bench to be a "hybrid" sixth man playing possibly four positions and being cashmere's main backup. It also doesn't hurt to have experience coming the bench especially in late game situations. Sanders will add some size to the starting lineup

Summer league street ball where no one plays defense has little to do with how the game of college basketball is played.

Incorrect. Parker will start

dion waiters didn't start for Syracuse and he was by far there best player but he was that jolt off the bench. parker can be a mismatch nightmare and a jolt for uc.

Syracuse killed themselves by playing waiters only 26 min/game during the tourney. One of the oddest coaching tactics I've seen in a long time. He did foul out against OSU but he should have been playing 30+ IMO...

We're thin in terms of guards with experience. I'd rather have Parker coming off the bench. I don't agree with putting him at the 4 either. That will cost us against good teams. I know he had the 11 board game against FSU but what happens, when we have to go against a team with multiple athletic tall rebounders like OSU? We just let ourselves get killed?
We have forwards this time around, lets use them.
