Semaj is good! IMO he is a 2 guard more than point at this time! Shaq by far is most athletic guy in the gym! They both are going to be fun to watch this year.

I'm expecting big things from Shaq. He could play well this year if he is able to play the 3. I think if he is forced to play the four in the Big East, it will be a long year for him.

I thought the knock on semaj was his jump shot? That would not make him that great a 2 guard. His handle is excellent and has tremendous quickness. I would think he is more of a point than a 2 at this point. He had a good weekend shooting the ball but it is DSL. I don't think think you can learn a whole bunch from watching any of that, imo. Same with Shaq - I'd rather wait until the practices/games start to make any determination what type of player he will be.

I wasn't at the game, but it's tough to say one player was embarrassed after looking at the stat line. I also read that Semaj had an "and one" over Shaq. Does the fact that shaq did well in the second half and ended with 21 points mean that he didn't show up the first half?

Shaq: 3/6 first half, 4/5 second half, 1/2 overtime
Semaj: 7/10, 5/9, 1/1

They both played well and it doesn't look like either was embarrassed.

I think you should know better than to take anyting BearcatMick says seriously.

DSL is what it is. There are plenty of players who blow up in the summer leagues who couldn't start at NKU. But in the off-season, beggars cant be choosers. I will take any basketball I can get.

IMO just because you can't shoot doesn't mean your not a 2 guard! He is a slasher. He looks to score more than setting up teammates. Yes I know it is the summer league. We will see when he gets into the X system.

I get what you're saying, but Alvin Mitchell had some talent. If he had Jamaul Warren's attitude, he would have had a very different career.

From what I hear, I'd love to have Shaq at the 3 either starting with Parker as the 6th man or being the 6th man himself. A four man rotation with Cash, SK, Parker and Shaq sounds nice for spots 1-3.

Of course this depends on a big proving himself worth to start along with JJ.

Mitchell had way too many deficiencies in his game to be effective at the BE level. Slow feet, terrible handle, worst passer I've ever seen for a guard, etc. He was at least pretty athletic and had a strong frame which helped.

I like that Sanders has been much more agressive, the stat line are irrelevant, he seemed like a kid that didn't want to hurt the team when he was in the game so he was really tentative. They need another Parker and I think he can be it.

absolutely zero chance that parker is not starting for this team. shaq will be in the rotation. keep in mind he has never guarded a the big east level yet. give him time.

I think you "may" be right, and it makes sense, but something tells me there is going to be a hybrid line up at times. Especially if Gaines has not progressed to give them solid minutes. The frontcourt will be thin. I truly believe you will see a combination of Cash, Killa, Parker, Thomas/Sanders, Mbodji/Jackson more than you think.

Parker, Sean and Thomas can all rebound from the perimeter and Sanders by all accounts is light years from where he was to start last season. Very athletic, quick, attacking line up.

I'd look for the first few games and probably more as a given to be.....

PG Wright
SG Kilpatrick
SG/SF Parker
PF Jackson
C Mbodj

It's hard to imagine anything different, at least to start the year. Thomas and Rubles will take some time to adjust.

Thomas is going to be a stud. So long and athletic. He will get a ton of time this year IMO. I really wouldnt mind him starting and bringing Park off the bench. I love Parker and understand his value starting but I also am very big on having a player who can score coming off the bench.

I have thought about this too. He could rotate in at the 2 and 3 and get starters minutes. Like i said this line up will be very versatile.

Right, I am thinking of a Ginobli/Harden type of role. Clearly one of our best 3 players and will get more minutes than some starters but tough to gameplan for.
