It's quite funny how some of you constantly toss out allegations without any merit (one particular poster consistently posts in an absolute and fabricating manner). For no other reason, other than feeling Cincy will not land Obekpa.

The recruitment isn't over, so it would be quite funny how some of the posters who feel something shady is going on will react, if he ends up at Cincy. Many of these coaches occasionally walk the "fine line" in the recruiting game. That doesn't mean they'll cross it. Some of you need to get a grip how it works in big-time athletics.

Some of you also act like Obekpa is Anthony Davis. Obekpa is a decent player (excellent defender, as we all know), but he's not a player that is gonna command the act of shenanigans.

He is our Anthony Davis... I think most of our anger isn't because we really feel other schools are violating recruiting rules, we are just frustrated that our coach can't get a slightly above average player to commit even though he has gone all out for him. If lavin put almost all of focus on obekpa like u.c. has for the 2012 class he probably would have had him already. So, nothing against st. J from me, I'm slightly jealous.

Your exhaggerating doesnt help your credibility. He may not be a AA but calling him a "slightly above average player" is wrong and shows you might have an agenda against Mick

As my 1st post I would like to add that we (Bearcat fans) need to calm down.

1) He hasn't commited to St. John's at this time. Why are we putting down Lavin? He hasn't done anything. You're make us (Bearcat fans) look stupid.

2) You have no clue whats going on. Wait for the facts before you tear down Mick and/or the staff.

3) Funny how some virgins from St. John's came on here. Good talk going on.

How good do you think he will be? But that's not exactly the point I was making. I'm saying if lavin had put the same focus on obekpa as Cronin he would have probably got him already.

im not accusing anyone of shenanigans, because i have no way to be certain uc isn't cheating.

however, if you think that only players like anthony davis can't command shenanigans you are very, very blind and naive to college basketball recruiting. crazy sh*t is going on with many, many, many players every year.

So you are upset because you believe that IF Lavin were to put as much effort as Mick he PROBABLY would have landed a SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE player?

You just sound like you dont like Mick. Why get upset about hypathetical situations?

And you don't have a bias toward him... ?

He is an incredible inspiration bc of what some people have put him through. The amount of verbal abuse has been stunning. Lance called for his firing. Mo thought he should go. Local media ridiculed him. Forum posters attacked him personally and one poster on him advocated his murder at the hands of Tu Holloway just this year.

Mick is a shining example of perseverance and resolve. He could have buckled under the pressure at any time. But he kept fighting and now he is one of the best in the country

He is terribly bias and it can get old but I can tolerate someone who is bias to the positive of UC sports rather than the negative.

So you can tolerate questioning the legitimacy of basketball recruiting for other schools as far as following the rules, but not anything critical about our coaches recruiting skill? Good to know... its only lolipops and rainbows from now on from me in this fantasy land.

The best, except when it comes to recruiting you mean. Because id say there is some evidence that other coaches are quite a bit better at that.

It takes ( and has taken!) time to turn around a program in the eyes of fans and recruits alike. Mick has done a great job of recruiting better talent each year he's been our (yeah I consider him MY coach as this is MY team) coach. Once you build a reputation like the Cats have been doing the past couple of years, kids begin to recognize the Cincinnati Bearcats again. When we lose out on recruits to more recently successful programs it doesn't diminish what we Mick has rebuilt and continues to strengthen. Get outta here with that inability to recruit crap. You think coaches who got gigs at unnamed "powerhouse" schools don't get kids on the program name/history alone? Winning cures all ailments and we're getting better everyday.

Is BearcatMick/Ralphie Mick Cronin, a member of Cronin's family, or a Xavier fan posing as a UC fan in order to make UC fans look like idiot's? He is so over the top ridiculous with all his posts that he has to be one of those three.

I think he's just an idiot

There's no way he's a surgeon as his profile indicates

52 wins in two years, 8 wins over ranked teams last season, sweet 16, top 5 BEast, BEast tourny runner up, I'd say he's doing fine my friend.

Talking to some people on this board is like talking to kindergarteners. 52 wins about 22 of those are over nobodys...like you said out of 52 wins only 8 were over ranked opponents. No big east conference championships. No big east tourney championships.

Those 8 wins were the most in the NCAA last year. Talk about not knowing what you're talking about!!!!!!!!!! If you worked in a pie factory you'd want to eat every other pie. Then you'd complain because your belly hurt.
