This is what I have been trying to get at. We lost to Harvard and it just flat out sucks. Why do people think we overachieved? That is the part I don't get.

In the last two years we lost Yancy Gates, Dion Dixon, Cheikh Mbodj, JaQuon Parker and Cashmere Wright. JJ looked really bad his first three years. Yes I did not expect much from this team and they did overachieve.

Over. I'll say about next year what I said at the beginning of this year. I have no earthly clue about what to expect.

Over and I think they will be better offensively because I like the bb iq of KJ and Caupain. Remember TC is only 18 and won't be 19 till after the season begins.

Mick did an amazing job with this years team.

How many people predicted UC in the top 25? In the top 10? As a 5 seed in the NCAA tourney? Wins over UConn at UConn, Memphis twice, NC State, Louisville at Louisville?

Mick is an incredible coach and we are lucky to have him.

Yes today was a disappointment. The refs F'd us. But they have some great players coming in next year and an elite level coach

We didn't beat UCONN at UCONN, we beat them at home. Wrong again I see....

I would like an explanation on ST. He didn't play the 2nd half basically.
I don't get it either. Thomas was the only player other than SK who could break someone down and get to the rim. I guess with the 3 guard line-up Mick wanted both Jackson and Rubles on the floor.

Empty offensive trips. Costly turnovers. Missed layups. The trifecta that has plaqued us in all our losses. Today was no different.

I'm sure Guyn is a great guy, but I really don't want him to be getting big minutes next year. He can come in and spell TC and possibly provide a spark with defensive energy, but unless he makes great strides this offseason his lack of offensive prowess will be a detriment to next year's youth movement.

Several plays today where he lost his man and gave up open looks. Hopefully he steps it up like the seniors this year did.

Bottom line is it'a entertainment. UC lost a basketball game. We live in a nation $17 trillion in debt and with the lowest job participation rate in 38 yrs.,and a state with more people on welfare than employed. There are bigger things to worry about than this.

That is a huge understatement my friend lol. Huge.

It's time the university makes the basketball program a priority. I know it's a tough sell with the budget and we don't pack the gym every game, but unless we are satisfied with the last four years being the ceiling, than it's time to get real.

I love Mick and think he has done well with what he has. Bottom line is UC finds itself in a tough position going forward. There are so many great programs around to compete for recruits, and we no longer have the Big East draw for players. Teams like OSU, UK, UL, IU and MSU will keep plucking the best of the best while we sit around hoping to land one great player that happens to be under ranked and coach up the rest of the bunch. This is okay to win a few NCAA tourney games here and there, but it will never produce a championship.

I may be a little reactive right now, as rooting for teams around town have taken its toll, but we can no longer be satisfied with just competing. Look at Harvard, they invested in their program and are no longer satisfied with just having a team. I get the fact they have a $30 billion dowry, but if Harvard can get serious about its hoops, it's high time the University of Cincinnati does as well.

And whoever said that it's cool because UC wasn't expected to make the NCAA tourny this year--that is pathetic. Why would those be the expectations? Except for the first couple years after the debacle in '06, we should never be happy just to make the dance. I didn't expect a title or final four, but I did expected to be better this year than last. I do think we had some success this year, and all isn't judged on today, but most of it is judged on what people will remember. And they'll remember losing 6 of the last 10 or whatever it was.

I guess in the end, I just hope that the best days of Cincinnati hoops are not behind us. And by that I mean National Championships.

Maybe 2-3 people on this board were UC fans when the last national championship was won. I find it amusing when fans set a bar they have never been familiar with or known as if it is a common thing. As a matter of fact, UC has seen 1 Final 4 and 2 Elite 8s since those championships. Since 1996 UC has been to 2 Sweet 16s, one of them by this coach.

While I 100% agree the university has to and needs to make basketball a priority in terms of athletic programs and their commitment to it, and agree we should dream big, let's not paint a picture that has never existed at this university. It simply is a distortion of the truth and takes away from what is currently being established.

UC needs to invest in facilities and make this program more attractive to top recruits. That is the next step and imo the most important one going forward.
