New Arena

I on the other hand am a student who goes to UC in Clifton. The sooner I don't have to go to Clifton, the better, personally. I'm not a fan of the area and no "but it's got this that this these" is going to change that. I'll go if the game is there but otherwise forget it!
Certainly another persons personal preference. Really I haven't spent much time in Clifton. Actually the only time I'm there is for the games. Have been to Martinos and Mios on ocassion. That said, I still perfer the banks. I live in West Chester so I realize Clifton is closer. Again just my peronal preference.

I went to UC, live out of town (Columbus soon moving to Chicago), don't get to go to many games, and frankly don't care where they are played. I only care about the seats when I get there. I often don't get to tailgate before or stay after games any way so for me, the most important thing is an arena where I can take my kids and they can see the game and enjoy themselves. 5/3rd is fine if you get seats in the lower sections. If you are more than about 10-15 rows up in upper deck, the kids can't see anything and it becomes a waste of money. Improve the sight lines and seating and I will be happy.

The upper deck is fine and not a waste of money. I dont know why you would make up this story.

You are simply wrong as usual

Annnnnnd a perfect example of why this board has goin to shit recently. Sitting 15 rows up in the rafters with kids would/does suck. I've done it. Waste of money.

I usually don't get involved in this drama, but generally when BearcatMick makes an appearance, it correlates with the board going to shit.

He was simply stating his opinion. I dont think anyone else is in a position to call that right or wrong.

Don't know about you but where I come from, "you are simply wrong as usual" is a personal attack, not an opinion. And if it is an opinion it is invalidated by the former.

No no you misunderstood. I was telling the guy who said you are simply wrong that he has no business saying that. Jason did nothing wrong, I was defending his post.

Oh noooo I need to make a mental note not to post with a raging headache.

I am the fool!

I take my little kids to a bunch of games and my seats are in the upper deck/lower benches. I love it and they love it. Sorry some of you think it's a waste of money.

its crazy u get blasted for not being able to sit courtside when ur trying do right thing by having family time and supporting your team.

I took my aging mother to a game, conversely, and the bleachers made it very difficult for her to stay long. Also the visibility of the low ceiling blocking off the other side made us feel kind of lonely...

So much for family fun!

I ask if she'd do it again, got a resounding NO. The price point of those uppers are really all I can afford at times, and since she isn't a diehard like I am she elects not to go if we can't get chairs (which we did, for Memphis, and that was excellent). Isn't that one of the bigger issues right now, a large fanbase that can afford the cheaper upper section and desires to see the games (but not breaking down the box office doors) but elects not to for whatever reasons, some I may have mentioned? That is the section you need filled for the sellout, and should theoretically be the easiest to move all else being perfect.

THANK YOU! Glad I'm not the only one. I always hated the low rafters. Made me feel like I was much higher up than I really was. Total nosebleed feeling.

You guys feel lonely not being able to see the other side? I get the nosebleed feeling but...

Yea, to each their own but the reasons seem a little crazy to me. I understand an aging mother not liking it up there but it should be a relatively non-issue for most people, especially considering seats are around $10/each. Others have complained that you can't really see the other side of the bleachers. Not sure why you would want to but I guess that is important for some?

Well those seats up there are never really completely filled unless the game is sold out. If not, there's usually a couple groups of people scattered about. With sight lines as they are, it makes the arena feel much more sparse than it really is. "lonely" insofar as atmosphere goes. I come to be part of a raving crowd not kick back and text about dinner while a basketball game happens to be going on :D
