100% agree. He's made some really bad in-game coaching decisions this season. I don't fault him for all the losses, but I don't know what he's doing at times.

Who is UC going to get that's better than Cronin. Have some really bad news guys, Cincinnati isn't a destination job.

I don't disagree. However this season has been the first time in 6 years that I think we should move on from Mick. Since that isn't going to happen, we need a major shakeup on the staff and in recruiting philosophy. The 2017 and 2018 classes need to be very good for me to regain faith. Hell, we need to pull some surprises for what is left of the 2016 class.

I do agree that recruiting is a major concern. Cronin favors a certain fit in the program more than overall talent it seems.

It feels this team is incapable of playing intelligent basketball in late game situations. Gary, free throw violation. Troy, can't execute an on-purpose missed free throw (one of the worst attempts i've ever seen, that doesn't even fly in a game of 21) Ellis, misses four layups late in regulation. Shaq could've made it all the way to the lane when he intercepted the pass, instead shoots a fadeaway three.

Seriously. Did our upperclassman PG not know the ball has to hit the rim?

Neither is X but they seem to bring in smart coaching year in and year out.

At this point, as much as it pains me to say this, X might be a more sought after job than UC. X is in a much better conference for basketball, they throw all their resources behind the program where UC splits it up b/w football and basketball.

When Chris Mack wants to go on a recruiting visit, he hops on a private jet and is back in Cincy in a few hours. Cronin is sitting with the poor schleps in steerage. UC wants to run with the big dogs, but don't treat the program that way.

With the way he reacted he seemed to know that the ball had to hit the rim, it was just a terrible attempt on his part.

It's one thing if it's just an awful attempt, it's another if he didn't know the rules. Let's hope for the former.

I just can't understand how he could know the rule and miss by that much.

Did anyone catch any postgame? What'd Cronin say? Any explanation on why our players have such a low BB IQ?

Cronin said he definitely knew the rule...just missed the rim.

Dayton, Xavier, SMU have not been "destination" spots but manage to replace coaches with other GOOD coaches.UC "had" a good reputation among recruits at one time. Was UC a destination spot when the administration brought in a young Bob Huggins ? Cronin is a very highly paid coach. His production doesn't equal the salary.

as of 6:00 a.m this morning, we are now in the NEXT 4 out, switched spots with Tulsa, who is now the last team in. We are now below the LAST 4 out too. A couple of guys on the college basketball network said the ONLY 2 teams that can still get into the NCAA Tour WITHOUT winning the American Tour., are Temple, and UCONN. Tulsa, UC, and even Houston are ALL going to have to win it's tour. to get into the NCAA Tour. Last night's loss by UC could have been fatal to it's NCAA Tour at-large bid, unless they win the American Tour.

Still think this is your best team ever Mick? AWFUL loss last night, in a game we had to have, GD!

Been saying this since the beginning of the year we will finish 22-9 in the regular season and we will still get in all you have to do is win two games in the conference tournament we can still lose one more everyone needs to calm down

I've never been more frustrated with a Bearcat player than with Ellis. He's 6'10 but plays at times like he's 5'10. Been a very frustrating year all together, especially with the on court smarts. The team has some talent, but apparently not enough to overcome their mental mistakes. Orlando will be fun, lol

I agree, team is not dead, but they are just about out of lives. No reason to jump off the ledge yet.

Im done hoping. Time to just let the rest of the season play out. If we do the work to get in, then great. I'll be happy I suppose. If we miss out, I wont be surprised at this juncture.

It has numbed me when the games are close this season as the same song plays, and the same dance number is recited.

Cheers.

Here's to tomorrow!

Why can't they get the ball in the hands of Clark at the end of games,he is shooting almost 60% and doesn't turn the ball over.

Two of those three schools you mentioned replaced coaches that left for "greener pastures"

Larry brown is a walking ncaa violation. We have stability with mick, a guy that is willing to stay the course and genuinely cares about team/university he coaches.

I guess we really need to define what success is. Playing in Big East tourney finals? 5 straight ncaa tourneys? Winning aac league titles? All three we've done under cronin.

I know we all long for final fours, but is the fan base and more importantly the administration, willing to throw away the stability Mick brings the program and start fresh again?
