We won... That is different

Same thing I was just saying, we lost these games last year, this year we are finding a way to pull through. This team is mich better than last year. Obviously we have some things to work out. I think some guys just need to be a little more assertive, I think we need to start working the ball inside than out. But hopefully time will fix these things. Our defense has looked great this year which is a huge plus considering we expected a big fall off. And our offense is better too, it's just the little things that need to change.

Typical ray of sunshine.

Great post.

You're so heavily invested in negativity that you're actually bummed when we win.

I think his main point is there wasn't much to take from this game to indicate that this team is making strides at playing better basketball. Sure, our resume is now better, and winning the game is always preferable to losing, but projecting forward the only real thing we can hopefully take from tonight is some more progress from Cumberland, assuming Mick is willing to live with his highs and lows.

Basically for this team to reach the level that NTS and I would like to see, nights like tonight are not a step in that direction.

It's also possible to play well, lose, and be optimistic about how the team will perform going forward too (E.g against UConn in the conf tournament last year).

However you wanna see it. We still won.

Winning is better than losing.

Kyle needs to get on the court. Was our best player through 10 games by far.

This team will not come near my expectations unless he can get back to playing an integral role. I know his defense is somewhere between meh and Hardenesque, but his rebounding has been ugh as well. Wish I knew what the problem was.

Those talking about Kyle seem to conveniately miss that when he's on the court the other teams offense gets going. He is a weak link big time in our defense. It's amazing what happens tho when we play defense to our ability and the other team don't hit every 3 down the stretch

It has nothing to do with however I want to see it. I'm thrilled they won. It's a really great resume building road win that will look nice on Selection Sunday. It also puts the Cats one step towards a regular season title vs a top contender. Those are obviously huge things.

That doesn't change the reality that this team has to play better to get where we want them to be this season.

Team will not succeed without Kyle. Pretty simple.

I think some people are happier losing to Butler but scoring more points. We scored well against Marshall but played horrible D. At some point fans need to recognize there are two sides to the game. We still play good D and Kyle is forcing. We had Evans on the bench for a while. It's not great...But it gets the job done for now.

It is absolutely imperative that Washington regain his confidence if we want to make a splash in the tourney. No question in my mind that he is the difference maker from years past when he is playing to his ability. We can not afford to park him on the bench and allow his confidence to dwindle any further.

He takes Ill advised shots. He needs to stick to his A game. Play D and rebound.

Watching Scott defend the perimeter is a far cry from what Kyle gives. Kyle is much better on offense but he can't be a weak link on D.

Idk if the some people is directed at me or not, but I'm not talking about scoring points at all. I thought we were garbage against Marshall on defense
(Even with them shooting lights out) they got into the paint off the dribble whenever they wanted.

My issues with tonight we're pretty simple:
1. Kyle Washington needs to get his head out of his ass and figure out what's wrong. He was one of the top 15-20 players in the country ( production wise) for the first 8 or so games.

2. Offense- went to the slow it down/ stall too soon with less than 4 minutes to go.

3. We still can't score efficiently in the half court, which is ironic for a team who loves to play a half court pace.

4. manhandled on the offensive glass in the first half.

5. Waaaay too many turnovers on offense

Exactly. At this point, when we we've played a bulk of the weaker part of our schedule, we are at 109.2 (#55) in Adjusted Offense. Last season we finished at 110.0 (#69). I know a lot of people like to look at the rankings, but so many teams are just hundredths of a decimal apart from each other so the actual number is more meaningful to me.

The game at Temple last year: 0.83 PPP and 37.85 eFG% (48.1% 2PT, 5.6% 3PT)
This game at Temple this year: 0.80 PPP, 37.06 eFG% (35% 2PT, 27.8% 3PT)

Not seeing the improvement I was hoping to see.
