Oh great this genius is back! After ever loss like clockwork.

Yea, a genius who doesn't say a coach is struggling because he has to much talent. Are you for real with your BS? Makes as much sense as mick talking about how nice a gym Nebraska has after scoring 59 points in two overtimes.

Have you ever posted here when something good has happened? Clown.

Save your breath Caupain is and will be the pg this year and next year, jenifer will get single digits the rest of the year! If you have listened to Mick he has said Caupain is one of the best pg in the country, it's not going to change its Micks team get use to it.....

Nobody said all that wasn't true genius. The fact that all of what you said is true is what I was commenting about. That "is" the problem!

Jenifer needs to play more but he's hard to bring in unless things are already going well. Still believe he should get close to 10 minutes a game.
Substitutions are made in the context of the game. Lots of factors go into it. Fouls, score, injuries, what's working, match ups and others. To blanket state some one should get certain minutes is not very practicle . If him getting more minutes was in the best interest of the team I'm sure he would be in there. Nothing his game offers at this time would make this team better. I hope he developes into a fine player but he is not that at this time. He wasn't brought in here to be a impact player at this point and again he is not.

That's the attitude that leads to extremely poor player development.
He is not the better player. If he wants to get on the floor he needs to first show it in practice then the games even if it is in limited minutes. Playing time is earned in the practice gym first. That is good player development. Troy is the Pg because in the eyes of the coach he is the better option.

Never said Jenifer is a better option. He needs around 12 minutes per game. He can't not be allowed to make a mistake in games. If what we have going on right now is what you call player development, I couldn't disagree with you more.

10 years worth of Mick players = 411 total minutes and 110 total points in the NBA this year. That is extremely poor. And he is going about it the same way he always has. Not going to get it done.

Jacob you can not mandate someone get a certain amount of minutes a game. Coaching doesn't work that way. As I pointed out substitutions are done within the framework of the game. Lots of things go into those decisions. Player development for Jenifer would and should start on the practice floor. He goes against fairly good players everyday in practice. Evans is getting lots of minutes. Moore is not. Let me venture a guess while comparing those two. Evans has shown to be more effective then the player he is playing behind on occasion. He is getting plenty of developmental minutes and it is also beneficial to the team. Like others I want a PG who can penetrate and get in the lane at will. Hopefully Jenifer can develope into that player. He has a long way to go. It's also not all his fault. His game is at times is impacted by those around him. For the better part of two season now we have been a team very weak in the handles department. This year we have compounded that by also not being a good rebounding team at times which means we have to hit the glass instead of turning and sprinting down the floor. We have not beat teams down the floor to create run outs for scoring opportunities. I have seen very few two on ones. We also have not been as effective defensively in creating TO's thus eliminating the chance for fast break points. We have been killed at the 3 point line especially lately. Which means we spend a great deal of time running at shooters. The opposition makes them and we don't. Our guards have missed rotations and had TO's issues. The guy who has taken the best care of the ball has been Troy. Mandating minutes to a freshman who turns it over at a higher rate is not the answer. Here is my answer if you want to run with the big boys of college basketball you will need to recruit better.

I'm saying Jenifer needs to average around 12. Not play exactly 12 every game. Some games he should play 15+, some games not quite as much. But it should never be 4. He went from 11 vs Nebraska, to 7 vs GW, to 5 vs Butler, to 4 vs Xavier. As Mick gets tighter and tighter, we score less and less and our players aren't given the opportunity to showcase their talent. Bc Mick is terrified of what might happen if a guy he doesn't have firm control over yet makes a bad play. Our player development is horrendous. The more time our guys spend around Mick, the worse offensively they seem to get. Jenifer isn't getting minutes bc he isn't doing what Mick wants. But what Mick wants sucks. Sorry, just going to flat out say it. He brings these guys in and breaks them down and tells them to forget all they know bc nothing they have ever done to get here will ever work again. Then by the time they're seniors, these guys don't even know how to play basketball anymore.

To sum up my thoughts I feel in years past with Mick we had a identity. We were a team that would guard and get after it physically. We would grind you down and wear you out. This year we haven't established who we are. We started out trying to push the ball and against cupcakes were having some success. As the schedule got tougher pushing the ball became more of a challenge. We also didn't board as well or guard. We also still have the problem of being a team that doesn't take care of the ball and our shots from our guards are not falling. I really can't figure out who these guys are. Mick started out trying to be a up and down type of team. Now he is trying to switch back and forth depending on the competition. If our style is going to be fast paced then run and take our lumps if needed. Recruit those types of players and live with the results.

The NBA doesn't matter, lots of GREAT college players never make it in the NBA. We don't get many sure fire NBA players.

100% agree with you here Jacob. Great post!
