Jacob you can not mandate someone get a certain amount of minutes a game. Coaching doesn't work that way. As I pointed out substitutions are done within the framework of the game. Lots of things go into those decisions. Player development for Jenifer would and should start on the practice floor. He goes against fairly good players everyday in practice. Evans is getting lots of minutes. Moore is not. Let me venture a guess while comparing those two. Evans has shown to be more effective then the player he is playing behind on occasion. He is getting plenty of developmental minutes and it is also beneficial to the team. Like others I want a PG who can penetrate and get in the lane at will. Hopefully Jenifer can develope into that player. He has a long way to go. It's also not all his fault. His game is at times is impacted by those around him. For the better part of two season now we have been a team very weak in the handles department. This year we have compounded that by also not being a good rebounding team at times which means we have to hit the glass instead of turning and sprinting down the floor. We have not beat teams down the floor to create run outs for scoring opportunities. I have seen very few two on ones. We also have not been as effective defensively in creating TO's thus eliminating the chance for fast break points. We have been killed at the 3 point line especially lately. Which means we spend a great deal of time running at shooters. The opposition makes them and we don't. Our guards have missed rotations and had TO's issues. The guy who has taken the best care of the ball has been Troy. Mandating minutes to a freshman who turns it over at a higher rate is not the answer. Here is my answer if you want to run with the big boys of college basketball you will need to recruit better.
