Our guys just need to show up and this should be an easy win. I don't mean physically, but mentally. We've got the talent to beat just about anyone when all of our guys are playing. Would love Washington to start being a force every game, we need his 15-17 pts if we want to beat good teams regularly. Marshall was a bad defensive game, but our team is playing better and better together on offense. It's a good thing we play a whole season, these kids are gonna be damn good by the end of 31 games. Cats start conference play 1-0, 74-63.

Crazy that we have the 18th best FG% in the country. If we got our 3 point percentage up, we could be top 5 or top 10

I think it's fair to say our 2PT% will not remain that high, and our 3PT% will not remain that low. Everything will even out eventually.

I dunno. I mean, Gary, Kyle, Troy , Jacob and KJ are all shooting extremely well from 2. I know Kyle and Gary will remain close to 60% from 2, Evans just doesn't take bad shots and gets so many contested transistion buckets to go in, KJ is our best mid range jump shooter, and then Troy is a hell of a driver when he wants to be.

It's not luck as much as it is having a bunch of guys who know how to score down low and in the mid range.

Our 3 point percentage is going to go up because I think we end up taking a lo less of them. I think this team understands how good they are on the inside and the mid range. It's what I loved about the Marshall comeback. We didn't panic, we just went straight to the paint to do what we know we're best at. The bearcats of old would try to get back in that game by shooting contested jumpers. Having two legit scoring big men is huge

I would say it's a lot easier to think our 3pt percentage would go up then our 2pt percentage to go down. We haven't only played a couple games, I'm sure it'll go down a bit but not much. On the other hand I think we will see a definite increase in is hitting 3s.

And don't forget FTs!!

We are ranked worse in FTs than 3s!!

We are near the bottom 10 percent in FTs and bottom 25 percent in 3s. I would like to improve those to 70 percent and 35 percent on the year.

That would put us at last year's numbers. We are a full 10 points higher in 2s. If we can stay ahead 5 points there we will be in good shape.

Im interested to see what the attendance is like tomorrow night.

Obviously the students are out of school still and they have been averaging about 50% capacity (5k or so)

They managed 7700 in the season opener against rival LaSalle but since then, its been way down

Line down to 4.5. O/U went up to 136 from 131.

We gotta score the whole game. Getting bogged down and grinding the game to a halt isn't good enough. Our 3 point defense better be on point too.

Kevin Johnson needs to play harder than anyone else on the floor. When he is aggressive and confident enough to just let it rip, we are way better.

I've been thinking the same thing all week. I've been following attendence around the league a lot this year. The liacouras center holds ten thousand I hope it's packed honestly. Top 25 conference opener at home (I get students are on break) anything under 8 for them would weak

Temple - shoots the 3, does not turn the ball over, has balanced scoring (4, almost 5 players average double figures), shoots free throws well (almost 75%), playing at home - sounds like a recipe for a UC loss to me...UNLESS
the Cats can hit a few threes (at least 36%) and shoot freaking free throws (at least 70%) for a change.
Maybe man defense from the get-go would help, instead of waiting until Temple shoots lights out from downtown.

If we plan extended man defense then it means Kyle Washington won't start and tre will. I imagine we start off in matchup and make them best that first. Very few teams do and then use man if they beat it.

What? Why? We're the road team. The quieter, the better.
