Also, do you enjoy bragging about your conference? It must be fun bragging about other teams accomplishments. I mean, your team has done nothing to make the Big East great, other than get beat up on by the good teams. So, go ahead brag about your other teams accomplishments, but just know, your holding the reputation down, not improving it.

Honestly, why would you spend time routinely on a UC board if you are going to spew garbage like this. UC is one of 8 Big East teams ranked right now? Are we really holding the reputation down? Or are you citing the last 4 years, when UC was clearly rebuilding their program, and just forgot that important detail.

Posts like these scream little brother.

Wasn't UC ranked last year too? How did that work out?

I can be rational and talk rational about UC, but when people say stupid sh!t, I'll back X. We can stop all this stupid banter and talk about the game if you want. I know it was attempted earlier in the thread then it went back to a piss match.

I enjoy bragging about our conference when someone from damn near a rec league calls our OOC schedule into question.

PS If Greatone and Living Legend are half as good as they say they are, and I think Alum played some decent AAU ball, if you add a few random posters on here (I had an illustrious JV GCL career, followed by a dominating Jr-Sr year of CYO ball) $20 bucks says the BCT team could play Fordham within 20 pts. I'm literally about 15% serious. :D

MDW is too knowledgeable of a poster to get sucked into this pi$$ing match.

Well, you Eggsavier squidworths are another story...

wait...really? because it seems to me like he is in the pissing match.

The facts are simple- UC has been complete garbage ever since Mick took over. They have gotten a 5 star recruit- and done nothing with it. They have had multiple late season collapses costing them a chance at the NCAA tournament--all on the coach. Xavier has been to the sweet 16 (one elite 8, 2 sweet 16's) the past three years- only one other school has accomplished that in the same time period.

There is absolutely zero debate who has been the better program the past 10 years. Heck, the past 15 years. I am pretty sure UC has gone to sweet 16 just twice in 15 years. Xavier has done it 3 times in the past three years.

Ha, MD, you do know St. Johns lost to them right?:)

I would probably give them 10 percent though, those guys are pretty good. Maybe Ralph as coach, I give them 3-4 wins in the A10.;)

Kcourt/Dontmisshim

Who is Xavier's best win this year?

Butler by 2 @ home? Didn't Butler just got smoked by 20 + to wisc milwaukee and evansvile @ home.

Seton Hall might be X's best win.

LOL at this stupid argument. Just really, really dumb. UC was CLEARLY the better program up through Bob Huggins last year. They routinely had the better team. Routinely.

Since then, X has had the better team the last 4 seasons. Of course any sane individual knows why.

I'm not saying the tournament isn't important, but if you are going to judge a programs status solely on tournament success you are using a really flawed measure. How many times has Xavier finished the season ranked in the top 10. UC did that 7 times in a 12 year stretch. Heck how many times has Xavier even been ranked in the top 10?

There was a clear shifting point when UC fell behind Xaiver. Of course, UC has improved every year since that point, now has a program in place with senior leadership that can pass the Bearcat tradition on, and have passed Xaiver for at least this year (its not debatable who the better team is this year). The question is, where will UC go from here?

I wouldn't expect next year to be anything but more improvement...

John Wooden wouldnt have won in the same situation.

UC has gotten a couple 5 stars, not just one.

uhhhhhm, UC:)

I don't know though, it's been a tough year for X. Started the year losing two players who were supposed to be key players for this team. I like that they have hung with a few top 25 caliber teams. They have been playing better than earlier in the year, so that is encouraging. They seem to play with anyone, which isn't good when playing teams like woffard.

My take on the UC game, I think it could be a lot like the florida game. I could see UC up 10-14 points and X making a late surge to get back in the game, but not having enough time left and end up losing by 4-6 range. But it is the shootout, so they could play better then they have been.

Not sure, I know they finished the season top 10 a few years ago, and I know that when David West was there they were ranked top 10 to start the year. Can't remember if they reached it at all two years ago (when they got stomped by duke) and I'm not sure what they finished when they lost to duke in elite 8.

Love this excuse. First of all, which fan base is the one that criticized our coach for complaining about his players being lost to injury? Just more hypocrisy from the Xavier fan base. Nothing new here.

But in reality, anyone with any knowledge of the situation knows that X only lost Redford as Martin was never going to qualify. He would have gone to Louisville if he could have qualified. If Chris Mack and his staff were surprised by Martin being ruled ineligible, they have no grasp on reality.

And finally, if losing Redford is the reason you are struggling, you weren't going to be good in the first place. The guy is easy to cover as he has no game off the dribble and is a huge liability on defense and the glass. He will spread the defense when X is on offense, but that doesn't outweigh the negatives.

Have you heard Mack use that excuse at all? No, Mick used excuses like that after every game. Even UC fans thought it was ridiculous how many excuses he had.

If you think Brad isn't a difference maker your crazy. People MUST guard him, he stretches out the defense and opens up more lanes for the likes of Tu and Lyons. I think he would certainly help our Offensive struggles this year.

Redford could hit his 3's and open the lane even more for Tu. Redford percentage wise is one of the best 3 shooters in the country and with a team that doesnt shoot the 3 well- that would help a lot. Martin is also a good shooter (he is a freshman though so cant put too much of season on him) but its well known the two best shooters on this team are out for the year

First of all, it comes up all the time. Just because Mack says "but that is no excuse" after every statement doesn't change the fact that he is referencing it every chance he gets so the media can talk about it. It came up this week in the A10 media session. Very surprising.

Secondly, why would you be critical of a coach for citing injury and then do it yourself. Do you not hold yourself to the standard for those you criticize? That would make you hypocritical.

Do you like your coach looking ahead in the schedule? probably not. Do you look ahead and say "looking forward to this game" after looking past some other games? if so you would be hypocritical.
