Can we PLEASE stop the Biggie McClain talk. I agree Yancy needs to bring more but Biggie is NOT the answer.

I'm being honest. I would play Biggie over Thomas. I'd bring Thomas off the bench at the 4 and 5. Thomas fouls, can score close and can't rebound against strong teams. Biggie at least gives you size and bulk and will battle for a board. He played well against USF in limited minutes. What does it hurt to try?

I would rather play Yancy at the 5 and Wilks at the 4 to start rather than start Biggie. His lateral quickness is a major hinderance. He is good in limited minutes.

I agree LL. There isn't any shame losing to Syracuse, but I think we are upset over how soft our bigs played and the way it affected the game. Yancy Gates has the tools to be a double double guy nightly. He had 3 rebounds against S. Florida for goodness sake!! I still say I would play Biggie over Thomas. Biggie will at least post.

We win if our bigs give 100% and have heart.

We got dominated inside, and that falls on two Seniors (Wilks and Ibra) and a Junior (Yancy). It is hard for Wilks to bang with those big bodies, but Yancy and Ibra REALLY disappointed. I thought we got much more physical and aggressive with Biggie and JJ. $hit, I'm ready to give JJ some minutes. He is aggressive, coachable, gives 100% on every play, and can put the ball on the floor a bit.

Yancy and Ibra need to do some soul searching. Our guards came to play, and did well, but our bigs were slow, methodical, lazy, and got BEASTED.

There is no excuse to play soft. Our bigs played soft. Missed dunks. Missed 6 footers. Jackson owning in the post.

Fooking A, man.

I would love to get 'Cuse in the BET.

It's called game planning. You alter your defense for the personnel. When faster more agile guys come in you change defense. Winning teams do it all the time.

No thanks, that place is a second home to them.

Against Nova I'll take my chances in the Big East tournament...but not only did Cuse beat them, they physically dominated the Cats.

Bingo.

Our interior players need to grow a pair.

We got dominated in the pain. Our guards played well.

Outscored 30-10 in the paint...ballgame!!

Dixon, Killa, and Cash had 35 points between them. Our bigs had 11 between Gates, Thomas, Jackson, and McClain. Add wilks and they had 13.

Thomas hasn't shown up for awhile now...not sure what his deal is. Yancy picks what games he wants to play. Bishop...needs to stop shooting threes...and possibly stop shooting altogether. SK, good gam. Dion, good game. If it wasn't for our Guards today...would have lost by 30 points. Well....the reaility is...Yancy will never be more than a 10 pt...6 rebound a game player.....and why didn't Cash shoot some treys in the second half...he was stroking 25 footers in the first half...

Bishop...needs to stop shooting threes...

The three point shooting needs to be limited to certain players:

I can live with bishop shooting a WIDE open three, but nothing more.

Thomas, as much as Mick claims can shoot the three, he has never showed it. Cut off.

Wilks, under zero circumstances should be shooting threes.

There is no bigger Cincinnati Bearcat fan than me. But I do try to be objective. In no way have I given up on this season and I still greatly believe in this team. Matter of fact, I think this loss will help them far more than the Villanova loss. I believe they were embarrassed.

The fact of the matter is this team will not reach it's full potential unless Yancy Gates shows up to play every single night. Six rebounds in 2 games is a travesty for a guy with his size and strength. He plays lazy and refuses to play in the post. this team cannot have that. He doesn't need to score 20 a night but he has to be a presence.

Syracuse extended their zone in the second half because it was obvious that UC couldn't hurt them down low. Gr81 said stop with the Biggie talk but he played better against Gilchrist and Jackson than Gates or Thomas.

Something teams get complacent and you shake it up. Wilks at least gives strong effort. Same for Jackson. The guards give effort every night out. Next game I'd go with Cash, Dixon, SK, Gates, and Biggie to start the game. Just my opinion. If Gates shows early he don't want to play his a$$ would be on the bench. It's not fair to the players busting their hump to have Gates coast till he gets a cheap dunk.

In Mick's post game, he mentioned that the coaching staff is going to take all things into consideration, and that some changes may be made (aka...lineup changes). He said that some starters are not bringing the tempo/energy to start each half. So who knows, Jackson or Wilks might start over Thomas next game. Lets hope they get things figured out before ND.
Go Bearcats!

Yancy sprained his ankle early in the game when he landed on another players foot. Yancy was the reason UC beat X by 20.
